So sorry to see you went through this...were they able to fix it for you?
December 10, 2022
Nope. It eventually faded; however, with what I've gone through and knowing that even when done right, it isn't permanent anyways, it's definitely not worth it. Go with a different provider.

How long until it faded? Having this issue 2 weeks later which seems common but having little luck getting info from people who either decided to remove or how long did it take to resolve on its on?

Hello, I am wondering if you could share time line of this resolving? Something similar has happened to me and I have option of thread removal but contemplating and weighing up how long it might take to resolve on its own. Thanks

Hi, thanks it did eventually resolve for me but took 6 months to fade away. I had a long raised welt from the threads that ran down the side of my cheek. I ended up getting laser to heat it up a few times to speed up it dissolving but Im unsure it helped, I massage it everyday for a while too and that just seemed to make it more inflamed. Sadly the only thing that worked was Time as it dissolved eventually on its own. Would not get again as a lot of discomfort, bruising and anxiety from it being visable so long.

Going through the process

NoTItsMcGee
This has changed my smile. I have attached photos taken from both sides while smiling. You could clearly see the two bumps when I smile on my left side. The second higher bump isn’t as visible when I don’t smile but the lower and bigger one is extremely visible just sitting on my face.

If this is the normal process of the PDO thread lift, then I definitely do NOT recommend it. However, that being said, I have had a PDO thread lift done by a different provider and this was by far a totally different experience. My first experience was like going for a facial. No bruising or no swelling at all. I had the lift and other than the sensation of pulling, no pain either. That sensation dissipated after a few days. The experience I had with my first provider (an MD) made it so easy that I made the mistake of thinking this could be done by anyone that had their certification - being it a doctor or a nurse practitioner. My first provider had numerous photos of her work. This one only had one on their Instagram post. Go and try to look for a before and after for Ahava Medspa Rancho of their PDO Thread Lift and you’d find one. My mistake.

I’m over day 14 and I’m still experiencing slight discoloration due to bruising, swelling, and most bothersome of all is the bump that I see on the treated cheek. I would recommend to triple check providers and go with your gut as you sit with the provider, usually won’t be wrong. If something feels not right then it probably isn’t. Check photos of before and after of your provider - not just the facility they work for. Ask for photos of those that your provider has treated. I didn’t.

It may seem overly dramatic but it is quite distressing and traumatic to go through what I’ve/am gone/going through because I was expecting quite the opposite. I wasn’t expecting a full-on face lift (I am aware of the thread’s limitations) but just a fresher look. I was expecting for my slight marionette lines/ laugh lines and jowls to not be as visible or evident. The impact of what I’m experiencing on my smile, my confidence, and my social interactions is greatly devastating. This whole process is doing the exact opposite of what I wanted to achieve. The waiting part is what I’m all able to do now and just wait for the thread to dissolve. I would have to live with my smile until the thread dissolves by itself - who knows how long will that be, could be in a few weeks, or could be several months.

To the person who is reading this and thinking of going through PDO thread lift, I implore you to go with someone that has a gallery of before, during, and after photos. Ask what to expect while your body heals - if they say, you may expect hematoma for more than two weeks - run away. That is not normal. When your chosen provider doesn’t take their time to look, “map”, and touch your face to see skin laxity - run away! My hope for you is a quick and painless recovery, and more importantly, a renewed confidence in the way you look. May your journey be the opposite of mine.

I am so sorry you had this experience! Looks painful. I hope you go back to your original provider to see if he or she can help you (the one you had a good experience with).

I had/am still dealing with an awful experience with pdo threads and having the same results as you… the opposite of what I expected. It has caused a huge hit to my self esteem and was a complete waste of money and incredibly stressful. I should have been stronger, listened to my gut and said no like I wanted to.

More bumps

NoTItsMcGee
I met with their medical director, Dr. Jacob Haiavy. He is also the surgeon for Inland Cosmetic. He advised me to do warm compress and do a facial “sweep” from my mouth to my jawline. I’ve been religiously following this and there isn’t any improvements. As a matter of fact, now I have two!
Called them immediately today as I am extremely concerned. It wasn’t there this morning when I woke up and it looks like it just showed up right before my eyes! I cannot move my mouth nor smile without the two bumps and lumps getting more and more noticeable. His office manager told me that he advised me to continue what he has prescribed and “let the process continue” - whatever that means. OR, he would be willing to take them off. I am extremely scared and against going through the extraction as I know there will be tissue damage and would probably have to go through the bruising and swelling of my face all for nothing other than psychological and emotional trauma.
I would like to note that since I won’t be getting my right side done, he told the office to refund me half of what I have already paid. Which brings the grand total to $1000 for me to go through this hellish of a “process”.
I have done this to make me feel good about the way I look and yet it has done exactly the opposite. Now, I am trying my best to cover the left side of my face and have started to not even show my face nor look people in the eye when I speak to anyone - including my husband.
I have another appointment with Dr. Haiavy Wednesday of next week.
