Surprised by how GREAT I look

I admit I have been pretty frumpy since my surgery, and I wear my compression belt non stop. Well today I went to take a shower and checked myself out and was surprised by how great my stomach is starting to look! It's still a tad lumpy and my belly button still looks swollen, but it's gone down. I can actually feel the swollen nodules on the inside of my belly button, I hope that goes away.

As far as my doctor appointment, she said it looked good, I asked about the lumpiness and she said that it's a normal part of the healing process and to continue drinking water, staying hydrated and eating healthy. She said in the next week I can start weaning myself off the compression garment if I am feeling comfortable. I kind of like it though and don't mind it so will keep it as long as needed.

I asked about lymphatic massages and she was quick to say don't do it. She didn't elaborate on why but said to please not do it. I wonder why some doctors recommend it and she isn't?

Smooth but lumpy?

I really love how my stomach is starting to look. The swelling has gone down a bit the past couple days and the sensitivity to touch has gone down too. Before it was so sensitive that even if I lightly touched it, it would either hurt or give me a sensation of surprise (I don't really know how else to explain it).
First I want to thank everyone who took the time to respond and private message me to let me know they were reading! I really like chronicaling my journey so it's good to know its not falling on deaf ears!

I'm 1 week, 2 days post. I noticed earlier today that although smoother, I also have what look like lumps or hardness. I don't think the dr missed any spots and am assuming it's part of the healing process...but to make sure I'm going to follow up with my doctor tomorrow when I see her. I am adding two photos, one I messed with the contrast so you guys can see what I'm talking about a little better. The best part is I didn't even need to take any pain killers. The pain seems to be fleeting and almost more like a "healing pain" if itching or a sharp pain in various spots that isn't too bad. They last maybe a few seconds. It only hurts or is uncomfortable when I'm getting in and out of bed or car.

I'm also going to ask my doctor about the lymphatic massages, she may have already told me but thanks to my buddy on here for mentioning it! It's nice to have those reminders!!

Oh and I lost 2lbs! :D

1 week

Still pretty swollen. My stomach feel super hard to touch and is still tender and hurts. I feel more bloated even though I have been eating healthy and wearing my garment. I hope the swelling goes away soon :(.

My belly button is still looking pretty funky and swollen. I hope it gets better soon too. I'm so happy with my surgery but feeling bummed because I am less active and more tired than usual (due to pain meds & antibiotics most likely).

Is anyone even reading this?
