WORTH IT
It's been almost an year (11mths 2days) since I started Retin-A and it changed my life completely.
I'm fair skinned and I loved to tan in my teens, I also have psoriasis so even the sun beds were helping me with the problem, but sadly - destroying my face.
I always had great skincare regimen, as my mom is really into cosmetology... and until I tried Retin-A, I thought nothing could help me.
I started slow, but only for 3 weeks, with 0,5 every other night. I had minor peeling, not even noticeable and after 3 weeks I started with daily applications. SPF 50 rain and shine. I mildly modified the rest of my skincare regimen, even though I am positive it's the retin-a that did the difference.
In terms of wrinkles, I have a 'huge' one on my forehead due to facial expressions and I'm looking forward for getting a procedure done.
Under the eyes, nasolabial fold - they vanished.
My complexion is so much better, everyone asks whether I had anything done.
I am so lucky to be able to obtain it and implement it at younger age.
One thing for sure, I will never stop using it.

Thanks for your post and your pics! What made you decide to go with Retin-A versus skin peels, lasers or other treatments?
I try to avoid the skin peels due to ongoing problem with psoriasis... I am looking forward to do my 1st laser this year... excited. Checking what's best for expression wrinkles :)
Are you worried having laser of retin-a skin, I am on roaccutane and no one will do laser due to increased risk of complications. So I wonder if same risks apply to retin-a treatment.
You can do laser and retin-a safely. I avoid laser as I think there is a great chance of reaching the same effect with retin-a (in my case). Later on, I'll probably do fillers... and maybe laser. Hope that solves it for you :)
damien28 I hope no one did laser on you whilst on Roaccutane, you simply can't do it. And you can't use retin-a on Roaccutane either. You could follow those paths after a period of time once you've concluded your Roaccutane treatment and your dermatologist can advise you on such.
I'm so happy for you!! I'm at a month and a half and still peeling...will it ever stop? I haven't let up but I tell you, I look like the walking dead. Did that happen to you? I use good moisturizer, wait 20 minutes after washing my face etc. I use a pea sized amount and I use it nightly. I thought about cutting back to every other night, but I wanna get this phase over with faster. Does it get better??
Disregard, I read your post kind of wrong, it's late haha. I use .1%, also. I'm glad yours wasn't as bad as mine is. I'm sure it will eventually straighten out :)
Oh, there were days that was bad... looking worse than normal, but it's all about getting used to it. I cannot find .1% here, that's why I am still on the 0,5%. Don't stop. 1y and a month tomorrow, ppl still think I've done something more than a facial care to my skin. And don't forget your sunscreen and water!
Which brand are you using? I also have psoriasis but am 100% clear after using biologics (currently on Stelara).
As far as I know the brand name is Airol and it is OTC in Greece only for about 3€
Yes, Airol.
What is the greatest difference that you have noticed?
Generally how smoother my horizontal lines on the forehead became and the whole complexion got so even.
Absolutely miracle of a cream.
