I Feel Worse About my Neck!

I really did not want to write a bad review, but I feel obligated to others who may be considering these procedures: liposuction, ThermiTight and Radiesse all on my chin/neck. I am not sure if my negative outcome was Dr. Ransom's fault in recommending/conducting the procedures, but my chin/neck surely looks worse than before.
Beforehand, I did not have a typical double-chin or a saggy neck. (For reference I am 42 yo and a size 4.) Rather, since I was a kid, I have had a lump under one side of my chin, which I was told was fat, and this asymmetry was what I wanted to correct. (It really looked fine straight-on, but bothered me when I titled my head down.). Dr. Ransom suggested liposuction, ThermiTight and a chin implant. I thought my chin was fine and did not want an implant, but Dr. Ransom convinced me to get chin filler, which would be temporarily if I did not like it. I was surprised that everything was going to cost less than I'd expected.
The surgery itself was fine, better than I'd expected. A bit weird to be awake while someone operates on your face, but not painful or long and Dr. Ransom said during that I was "good at lipo" (whatever that means), so I thought it all went well. Afterward, I only had one bruise on the tip of my chin (I think from the filler), and the swelling went down in a few days.
It's now four months later and here's how it looks: (1) the original lump is much larger and now extends along the side of my chin (my dermatologist thinks it's scar tissue that *may* go away in a year or two), (2) the skin all over my jowl/neck area is much looser and all of a sudden I have an "old" neck along with a small turkey waddle in the middle, (3) the filler is not aesthetically pleasing (looks manly) and is lopsided such that one side of my face looks larger than the other. I am now researching a neck lift to correct issue #2, but concerned about another surgery and making everything even worse.
I have had three follow-ups with Dr. Ransom and, although he is perfectly pleasant, I feel he's been dismissive of my concerns, telling me I have stretchy skin and it will never look perfect. But had I known there was a chance that I'd look worse, I really never would have gone ahead with the procedures. I really wish I'd left well-enough alone!
I don't have my official "before" photos, so I am just posting a social photo with head tilted slightly down, as well as two "after" photos. If anyone has advice on how to fix, it would be much appreciated!

okay, first of all that doesn't look very bad like the other comment . Take a look at my lip thermi review by clicking on my name and you will see a result that looks BAD. I'm still horrified 7 months later .. I have crazy jowling now a turkey neck, weird crepiness and just all around noooo. im miserable every day and this seems to do that to a lot of people. Thermitight is no good and im sorry that we were both suckered into it. DOnt worry 4 months is still early, my neck made good strides until the 6th month and your's isnt even as bad as mine and the filler if you dont like an be reversed.... good luck.

I don’t know what her before neck looks like and you can’t even see it when she puts her neck down. So in comparison to mine, it looks good. Sure, we both would like a smooth neck but we were vain and got plastic surgery. Stuff happens I guess

Thank you for your comments and concern! I hope your neck is continuing to improve. Unfortunately that photo with my head tilted down is my "before"; now you actually can see a double chin when I put my head down. It has maybe shown some *slight* improvement in the past two months, so keeping fingers crossed it gets better.

And again to the Original poster.. try not to panic too much, 4 months is early in my experience. It continues to improve.

That’s actually not true. My neck dramatically started to change around the 5/6 month mark. You just need to go with your negativity. Get a life

Find a different doctor/procedure!
bb94123January 17, 2020
It's now been 8 months since I had ThermiTight, Lipo and Restylane from Dr. Ransom and it was all such a big mistake. The Restalyne will at least hopefully dissolve in the next few months. But the Thermitight and Lipo have done permanent damage to my face. I now firmly believe Dr. Ransom sold me on unwarranted procedures that only made me look worse, and then showed no interest in figuring out what went wrong or in fixing it.
I've met with multiple plastic surgeons since this happened and I'd strongly recommend that everyone reading this who is considering Dr. Ransom instead see Dr. Issa Eshima, who is expensive but honest. Dr. Eshima basically told me that I had a great face and he never would have touched it, but that Dr. Ransom should want to keep me happy and I should let Dr. Ransom fix it instead of paying him (Dr. Eshima) a lot more money. Another plastic surgeon told me the damage was never truly fixable, that fat was removed that never should have been removed, and that my neck would now always look "older" but that I could do things to make it look better.
I have one final follow up appointment with Dr. Ransom later this month, so we'll see if he offers any solutions. Last appointment he told me laughingly that I could always just walk around with my head tilted up so that the waddle I now have doesn't show. I did not find that so funny.

Hi there. I was just wondering what came of this situation? I also am experiencing a little skin laxity in my submental area after getting FaceTite and lipo (different skin tightening procedure) and am looking into options to fix it. Surely there is something that would work for you (us)!
March 15, 2020
Hi! Yes, I think FaceTite and ThermiTight are similar procedures. I just heard yesterday of a friend's sister who had FaceTite resulting in looser, not tighter, skin. It is really a shame these are on the market!
I have not done anything surgical yet because I am trying to give it a bit more time to heal and I'm worried that surgery could make things worse yet again. In the meantime, I have tried everything I can think of: lymphatic drainage massage, serrapeptase supplements and castor oil packets (to dissolve scar tissue), collagen shots, face rollers, gua sha tools, facial yoga, neck creams. Nothing's really worked, but I've noticed that it looks better when I am well hydrated (esp with Ophora water) and using the face roller consistently. Friends have told me to try the NuFACE tool, but I am hesitant because apparently it leaves a metallic taste in your mouth.
Unfortunately, I think the only way to really make it look better is probably a neck lift. I just moved down to Southern California and am trying to find an honest plastic surgeon down here. I'm happy to keep you posted and please let me know if you find any better options!

Hi. Sorry about your situation. I just wanted to comment that you should try the NuFACE. I have been using it for a few months, and it is amazing! I've never heard of the metallic taste you described, but can't imagine how it could make anything worse. I hope you are able to find a solution.

I’m sorry to hear about your experience. I’m suffering from the same issue with Thermitight for neck and lipo just under my chin area. I’m 3 months post and I look worse. I also want to let anyone considering this procedure a few things I wish I knew before having the procedure.
1) This is an invasive surgery; anyone who says otherwise has not been on the receiving end. I was told by the doctor prior to surgery I would be able to return to work within 3-4 days. Simply not true! I had swelling for a good 10-11days to the point where I would not want to be seen in public.
2) It felt very invasive for the first 20 minutes of what was about 50 minutes.
3) Youl’ll be sent home with a face that looks beat up and swollen. I was not told this in advance- so I was surprised to say the least.
4) You will be sent home with a bandage around your head and under the chin. However you’ll need to purchase your own head wrap.
I was told this as I was being wrapped after the procedure. It would have been good to know this in advance.
5) I was told to wear a wrap even while sleeping for the first three days; after that as much as possible for up to a week. That advice was not sound. As the saying goes hindsight is 20/20. I probably should have been wearing a wrap as much as possible for a month.
6) Stop taking anything that thins the blood for at least one week pre-op and two weeks post op. Another piece of information I wish I knew prior.

Proceed with extreme caution!

Just adding a final update here... it seems the filler (unfortunately Radiesse, not Restylane) has finally dissolved after nearly two years. But, nearly two years after the Lipo and Thermitight, the skin on my neck is still MUCH more lax than before (It had no noticeable laxity before) and I still have what I think is scar tissue under one side of my chin. In other words, my neck looks way worse than it did before.
Prior to these procedures with Dr. Ransom, I really would try anything beauty-wise. Over the years, I have done lots of botox, some filler, and various lasers -- sometimes procedures would not do anything, but nothing ever made me worse. Unfortunately, in my vanity, I went too far, did not do enough diligence, and just trusted Dr. Ransom when he suggested these procedures. Thinking back on it, I should just have left well enough alone.
And also, it is just gross that Dr. Ransom played on my insecurities to basically tell me how horrible I looked and convince me to get procedures I did not need. I mean, he told me my nose was "too prominent" and my chin was "weak," circled all my flaws on an iPad, wanted to give me a permanent chin implant and was hinting that I also needed a nose job. I left his office almost in tears. My boyfriend at the time warned me that was crazy talk, and it was! I mean, I'm far from perfect looking and don't look how I used to, but my nose and chin are fine -- I used to model when I was in HS! Dr. Ransom also showed me before/after photos of folks who (as I now know from his website before/afters) had neck lifts and represented them as before/afters from Thermitight. I am amazed that a reputable plastic surgeon would just tell patients anything to make a quick buck. But after visiting a few, it seems that's what most of them do (with the exception of Dr. Issa Eshima). Seriously, Dr. Ransom, you should be ashamed of yourself -- there are better ways to make money.
So please forgive the rant, but in case this helps one person, I just want to warn everyone who is considering plastic surgery, to please proceed with extreme caution! Most plastic surgeons will tell you anything to sell you on lots of procedures. If something's not totally broken, please consider leaving well enough alone. And if you do get plastic surgery, interview LOTS of surgeons until you find one who is not just playing on your vanities/insecurities and who actually gives you reasonable advice. Plastic surgery can make you look worse, not better! My only friend who has also had plastic surgery went to a very famous/expensive one in LA and still has bad scars years later and also wishes she had never done it.

I agree with you! I’m two months out and I look deformed. They keep telling me I have to wait for it to heal but they never prepared me for this! I’m embarrassed I paid for this! I have long hair so I try to hide my neck/jawline. So disappointed…
