I had Thermage done on my eyes in June 2005 and again three weeks ago. Each time it cost $1,500.
My drooping upper eyelids are the biggest cause of my aging looks and I am not a good candidate for a full face lift because I have only a small area that needs fixing. Every doctor I’ve seen has said that Thermage would be better than facelifts, contour threads, Botox, etc.
The first time I had it done I had no results. I had been promised the moon and went to a great plastic surgeon but for some reason it just didn’t take to me. It was painful and I left the experience feeling very sad and disappointed.
Since nothing else has solved my eye issues since then, I went back in the doctor’s chair for more Thermage three weeks ago. This was a different doctor who had new “tips” for the machine that deliver better results. I will say though that my eyes look a little bit better and the skin is slightly tighter. I don’t know if that’s from the swelling.
It by no means got rid of all the problems (well, not so far) but is a baby step in the right direction. I am due for a follow-up in six months and we’ll see if that significantly improves my results. It’s an expensive investment for such a tiny improvement but it’s an area that really needed it so it might turn out to be worth it in the end. I’ll have spent close to $5,000 by then and I hope I have something to show for it.
