Well, it's day 9 after surgery and I appear to be healing quite well, according to Dr. Gupta. I would HIGHLY recommend this doctor in London, and ask him to listen to my surgery playlist I made. :) The procedure itself wasn't that bad. I was terrified of waking up, which is exactly what happened but it wasn't as scary as I had imagined. I was essentially asleep for the tumescent fluid going in and then I woke up as he was finishing off for about 15 minutes. We talked and I felt no pain. I was also pretty calm after the cocktail of drugs they had given me. The day/night I got home, however, MY GOD. It really was the worse pain I had experienced in my life and the codeine did absolutely nothing. If you do this, make sure you have some serious pain killers. If you're in the States, this isn't a problem but in Britain, make sure you leastly ask for Tramadol. I was in agony that night and for pretty much 3 days after. I'm still very swollen and wearing one of my more comfortable compression garments (that was the other thing ... the first one was a size too small and i struggled to fit both of my boobs in it!). I've also had three MLDs, which were not that much fun until she stopped doing the stomach area and moved on to less painful areas! :) Other than that, I'm waiting for that magic six week mark to see if all of this swelling will go down. I have two little lumps by my belly button but Dr. Gutpa says these will vanish. I can't say enough about this doctor BTW ...

Greets all. I'm having microcannula lipo on my upper and lower abs with Dr. Gupta at the Private Clinic in London. After extensive research and shopping around for the right doctor (I had one consultation with an inarticulate doctor who seemed more like a talking Barbie doll at the Hospital Group) I feel excited though slightly nervous about the whole thing. I opted for the micro lipo as opposed to the Vaser or Smart lipo after a thorough talk with Dr. Gutpa, who was trained by the doctor who developed the micro technique, Jeffrey Klein. As I understand it, there is a higher possibility of scarring and lumpiness with the Vaser than the microcannula technique. There is also less down time, and as much as I love corsets, less time in a compression garment. My only slight worry is that _ having a tendency to think the worst _ I have opted for twilight sedation. Although I've had good luck with propofol in the past for two minor surgeries, those were in the States and I never woke up. This procedure is fairly long _ 3 hours _ so I'm scared I will wake up when the doctor is hoovering up all the hard-earned fat in my belly. (joke). Eager for any comments from everyone, as well as advice on whether it might be beneficial to also get my flanks done. I'm 5'3 and about 143 pounds.
