Vaser Liposuction (Revision of First Procedure Done Elsewhere) - Abdomen and Flanks, Bangkok. 40yo Male

7 week update

$7,000
After 7 weeks I am still experiencing swelling, hardness and lumpiness as I would have expected. Good to let people know that this is a long term process where the final result comes many months after the procedure. After a couple of months its pretty clear to see most of the result though. If I am sitting or hunched over for extended periods, I get more swollen after a short time and need to get horizontal to bring it down. Its not terrible swelling, but more a sense of fullness and roundness now. I still feel tender to the touch in areas, similar to sensitive skin or sunburn. Getting better by the week and directly related to the swelling. Still have small spots of numbness too. In the mornings when I wake up I feel quite lean and not tender. Then after 15 minutes of being upright I can feel my insides tingling a bit as gravity starts to slightly move things southward. Like a pulling sensation but only small. Definitely still need to wear the garment as much as possible. It's on for the best part of 18-20 hours a day still. Laying down on my bed sometimes its nice to have a breather from it for a few hours while reading. I sleep in it almost every night.

For me the main objective was to reduce the hanging appearance of the abdomen and sides as much as possible. In this regard I think so far it has gone really well. I know there is still a way to go and my skin may not keep its new shape in time, but my fingers are crossed. The doctor seems to think most of it will hold well, especially the abdomen. Great to hear...I think visually the difference is quite dramatic compared to pre op. But it has come with a couple of concerns which I hope will iron out in time.

The area directly around my belly button and below down to the waistline is still quite hard underneath a softer surface. This is ok but I hope when it fully softens things don't drop a lot. My flanks didn't receive as much removal as I would have hoped, especially the lower and back portions. But the doctor mentioned he was limited as to how much he could remove there because there was a lot of blood starting to come through. This is also where my skin was the loosest, so I have to keep my fingers crossed on that one. Also when some swelling is still present its natural for the flanks to look a little worse than they really are from fluid retention. There is a slight squareness to the flanks still which I'm sure will even out in time-would like to see that happening soon though. Overall it still doesn't look too bad. I need to remember that I'm a 40yo guy who's been much much bigger than this for many years. This is also my second surgery of the same area.

There is still a lot of unevenness under the skin that I can feel in the whole abdomen. I know this will get softer in time though, but I still feel a little concerned it won't be as smooth as I'd like it. Another problem of a second procedure is that the surgeon is fighting against previous scar tissue and this can limit the smoothness of the final result, especially when moving towards a med def or hi def type of result. This is another reason why the doctor and I opted to not do hi def. It wouldn't look good on my body type as I carry too much fat in other parts and my muscle mass is average. I think he went as low as he could on the abdomen. I can really see now why he told me this was the most difficult vaser procedure he had done-it certainly would have been a balancing act for him and not easy at all.

I still think I made the right decision in going with Dr Ronachai. This was a tough gig and by and large I think he's done quite well so far. Just hoping the contour hangs in there over the next months. Cheers.

This is the second procedure I've done with this doctor. I know it's too early to tell but it looks like he has done very well and fixed up the problems left after the same surgery performed elsewhere a year earlier.

I will update the review more over the coming week...

I will update the review more over the coming week. 'Not sure if worth it' status is only there because its too early to tell, but my first impressions is that it was a good choice. Will update status as things improve.

This is my second Vaser procedure of the torso and flanks. The previous one was a year earlier, with mixed results. I had a feeling the first surgery could have been done better but I was unsure of how well it would improve, versus the money spent to do it. My first impressions are that the second surgery with Dr Ronachai has completely changed my contours as he said. Now its up to my skin to hang in there and form to the new shape without hanging out too much. I've got my fingers crossed, so far it has retracted better than I thought it would.
