Having been self conscious of my lower face since I was old enough to care how I looked, I would always hide the area between my nose and upper lip as I felt it elongated my face and I was only ever confident or comfortable talking to people with it covered, I was bullied at school and I keep myself out of photos unless I could some way cover it up so its was not obvious I was covering it up. Its damaged my self esteem all these years. I discovered the upper lip lift procedure on realself and read every review that covers this topic, so I thought I would write my own journey to share with realself visitors.

Nothing has been decided yet until I have my consultation but I am hoping for as much as possible, would be good for me if I can get to 13mm, will keep you posted. Thanks for your support x

Thanks, I don't want to sound negative but It's always better to have less at first, it will be more natural and not such a huge shock, you can always have more taken at a later date if needed, but you can never put it back if you take too much.

You know I never even knew this was something they could do until I came across it on real self, it's a scary thing to have to decide on but I am hoping I will be well guided by the prof, and no sorry needed it's nice to share opinions as it gives me an unbiased view

I'm in the uk and only a few doctors preform this procedure, not many surgeons advertise it on their websites, and I also found this site to be so helpful. I have finally saved enough money to go ahead with a lip lift but I'm so scared that it will either be the best decision I've ever made or the worst, every day I lift my lip up it's become an obsession. For me 5-6 MM. Would be great any more than that I start to look like a rabbit. You are a very attractive woman. Please keep us updated with how the consultation goes.

Thanks, I am in the UK too but I am travelling to Bangkok to see Prof Kunachak and have surgery there, its a bit more daunting to go abroad but I have researched my surgeon a lot over the last 6 months and wont make a final decision until I have seen what can/cant be achieved. You say its become an obsession for you but I do the same , lifting my lip I get the rabbit look as well, but from what I have read they lift the sides a couple more than the centre so it balances the top lip out. It is a scary procedure which is why it takes a lot of thought and research on sites like this to pluck up the courage to go ahead. Your upper lip looks fine, unique. I can only see the bottom half of your face but you look pretty from what I cans see.

Always hated the space above my lip to my nose and would always cover it where I could, my upper lip measured 22m and was not balanced with the rest of my face. I hope that by reducing my philtrum it would balance my face and give me a little more lip area. My motivation was people's results on this site.
