After years and years of wanting to have a...
After years and years of wanting to have a labiaplasty performed, I finally had both the time and the money available to do so.
For months I researched doctors and different procedures, as well as other women's stories about their experience with the surgery.
I finally set a date and had two particular doctors in mind for the surgery - Dr Vitasna at Yanhee Hospital because she has a huge amount of experience with this type of surgery, and Dr Nopadol at Bumrungrad Hospital because he has experience in gynaecological surgery at a top hospital.
(The reason I chose Thailand is because I live in Asia)
Unfortunately Dr Vitasna was not available during the only week I had a available for the surgery, so I ended up going with Dr Nopadol.
During the consultation I mentioned wanting a clitoral good reduction which he had no idea about, and this struck me as alarming. He also had not performed the wedge method before which I wanted to discuss and look at getting as opposed to the trim method.
I was by myself and had saved and waited for this day forever, so I simply agreed to have the edge trim technique done with no good reduction.
The staff at the hospital were very nice and helpful, they spoke great English, and everything was setup to run very efficiently.
Long story short, I had the consultation in the morning and the surgery in the afternoon on the same day.
I was in quite a bit of pain and could not walk very well, so I went back to my hotel when I felt a little better and rested for the rest of the week.
I took vitamins to speed up healing and also applied coconut oil, Vaseline, and an eye ointment (prescribed by the doctor??) to the wound as often as possible. It was incredibly swollen and bled almost constantly for days, but I have a feeling this was from constantly having the area wet.
I know many people have said keep it moist, but after leaving the area to dry a little and then applying a small amount of Vaseline, it started to heal really well.
After a few days a few of the stitches looked like they'd popped and we're still bleeding (this carried on until about 2 weeks after surgery), but Tyne swelling eventually went down and the sutures healed.
At 3 weeks post surgery I am still a little swollen, I still have stiches in my labia, and it looks like my one side is a lot larger than the other (the other being pretty much completely gone).
While I glad I do not have the huge amount of excess skin that I had before, I wish I had been to Dr Vitasna in the first place.
I hope to go back to her to get things a little neater sometime in the the future.

Provider Review
Dr Nopadol
I only spoke with hospital receptionists prior to meeting with the doctor. It would have been a lot more helpful to be able to email him directly with my questions. Dr Nopadol mentioned that he had done labiaplasty procedures before but he had no idea what a clitoral hood reduction was, which after many years in the field of gynaecology was a little baffling. I would not recommend this doctor for labiaplasty surgery.
