I travelled to thailand as the cost of the procedure in my country is around $10,000 and my sister had breast implants done in Bangkok, Thailand with amazing looking results.
The hospital was the equivalent if not better than Australian or American hospitals in terms of facilities and cleanliness. I stayed in a private room for 2 nights before being discharged. My surgeon completes up to 10 breast lift or breast augmentation procedures every week and has many years experience.
There was no complications with the surgery. The recommendation was to wait 2 weeks before flying home (8 hour flight) however I only waited 9 days and flew home the day after my stitches were removed. Big mistake! When I travel by plane I experience a great deal of swelling on all parts of my body (doctor says this happens to some people but not others) hence my breasts swelled during the flight and therefore part of the stitching broke open, this is a high pressure point on the breast and I was warned it may occur. The second picture is how the wound appeared straight after I got off the plane. The wound began to heal nicely. 3rd picture is 2 weeks after. I was tired of attending the doctor to have my surgery dressed every second day and it was a great disruption to my working day. I decided to do this myself. The dressing included a white gauze like mesh called bactigras that was applied under the bandage to avoid infection. One day when removing the bactigras to put a new one on I felt a sharp pain and realized I was actually pulling an internal stitch!!! I didn't think a stitch inside my breast would be so white, I assumed it would be stained from blood which is how I made the mistake. Pulling the stitch resulted in a large hole opening up! Very frustrated at this point as I was so close to the end process. Because the wound was so large the doctor recommended stitches which were completed whilst I was awake and only took about 5 minutes. Sinubsequently I now have a scar but it doesn't bother me in the slightest. I LOVE my new boobs. I would highly recommend considering options in Thailand, the doctors here in Australia commented they couldn't believe how good the job was done by the Thai surgeon and his stitching was so fine and immaculate.
