So far I'm excited but still scared to death! I'm 35 yo and I've had three children. I have wanted to have a tt for nearly 10 years! Now that I'm scheduled I'm having all of the fears of dying during surgery & getting an infection afterwards...I just want it to go well, for me to remain heathly & to get the results I'm praying for!

Hi momofall. I think all of us felt some fear about surgery. You are still young and if you are in good health you should do just fine. Has your ps prescribed antibiotics to take after surgery? If so that will help prevent infections. Hope all goes well for you. This site is so helpful and the ladies are so sweet and knowledgeable. I'm 10 wks post op and feeling great. Best thing I have ever done for myself!

Hi, I've been reading lots of sites like this and one said to eat lots of protein and drink protein shakes to help your muscles and body heal. Have you tried this or has your doctor instructed you to do this? If so, what about whey isolate drinks? I know people who work out and lift weights drink this for muscle repair.

June 18th can't get here fast enough! I'm really nervous but excited at the same time! I love my dr, anytime I call, they answer all of my questions and always call back if I leave a message. They are very helpful. I'm so ready to have it behind me!!

Thank you both for your encouragement! My ps is going to give me IV antibiotics as well as 3 days oral po. I had a bad experience with a hysterectomy 2 yrs ago. So I'm glad my ps is very receptive to my concerns. I'm also having the lipo on my flanks! I am healthy, exercise regularly for two years, but there is no flat tummy for me after 3 children. So, I'm excited to get it fixed!! Thanks again!!

I'm reading, reading, reading. Everyone's story is different. I will have my own story soon. But I have some questions. If I don't have a recliner, should I plan to sleep on the couch? Will I not be able to sleep in my bed? Will I be able to get up unassisted? My hubby is only taking off the day of surgery. But I will have my children here to help. They are boys, I have to be able to go to the bathroom alone! Should I get someone else to come over? I'm a nervous wreck!

Hi Momo. I was able to sleep on a regular bed with not too much problem. I dont have a recliner. You just have to prop yourself with pillows. Able to get out of bed by myself on day 3. Using toilet by myself since day 1. I had TT and BR. You should be ok on your own by day 3 I would think. Good luck!
I am 10 days po TT with Lipo to flanks...The recovery is not a bowl of cherries but being on this site really helps.I am still very swollen .But I know this is temporary. My ps says I am healing perfectly and the swelling will subside. It can take months to get your final results!!!!welcome to the site ..can't wait to follow you on your journey!!!
