Update!

Hi everyone! Sorry for the delay, it's been a bit of a mess. So I found out my insurance does cover the surgery but when I told my mom, she let me know her company wear switching insurances, effective November 1st. I got in contact with my surgeons office and they let me know they would not be able to move forward until they saw the new insurance card. I recieved the new insurance card in the mail two days later and immediately faxed a copy to the surgeons office. I recieved a call from them the next day letting me know my precertification still stood and could schedule my surgery! I am officially scheduled for December 21st! I chose that date because it is within the time my mom is on break from work so that she can care for me through recovery. I also needed to schedule a pre-operation appointment with the doctor for a week before the surgery. The lovely patient concierge, Tracey told me I should bring all questions I have about recovery to that appointment. I do have a final for one class scheduled for that day but I'm hoping because I'm giving more then a month notice, I will be able to reschedule. I also work part time as a receptionist but I'm wondering when I will be able to go back to work. If anyone has any input, let me know! I'm very excited for this big step forward!

Like many other women in this group, I have always...

Like many other women in this group, I have always had bigger breasts than others in my age group. It wasn't until high school that I realized it was just too much. I finally made the decision to go through the breast reduction surgery about 4 months ago and it has been full speed ahead ever since. I read many reviews, watched a ton of videos, and spoke with many friends of friends that had had the surgery done. After all of my research, I made three consolation appointments with different plastic surgeons.

The consultations consisted of a conversation with the doctor about what issues I had from the size of my breasts and what my expectations were from the surgery. They also took photos and measurements of my breasts. They explained what the surgery would entail, what recovery would be like, and answered the many questions I had.

I finally decided on Dr. Brian Buinewicz in Doylestown, PA and asked what to do to be able to go through insurance. The wonderful patient concierge, Tracy, told me to have two doctors write letters stating that this surgery was necessary. She gave me the office's fax number and told me to just have the doctors fax the letters to them and they would take care of the rest. I already knew I would use my primary care doctor for one of the letters so I asked Tracy what other type of doctor would be best for what the insurance company was looking for. She advised for a chiropractor, physical therapist, or something of the like. I called many of these types of doctors asking if they could help me with the letter but all of them said they would not be able to after just one appointment and that they would need to see me for a longer period of time to determine the cause of my problems. As I am 5'1'' and have 34G breasts, I already know what the cause of my problems is and I have no intentions of trying to fix it through a chiropractor or physical therapist because I know that won't fix the main issue, MY BREASTS.

Frustrated, I called Tracy again (bless her heart), and asked what to do. She advised calling my OBGYN, as they do a yearly breast exam and could be a credible doctor to write the letter. One of the nurses there spoke with me at length about what to put in the letter and finally, it was finished.

So, as of now, I have all both letters faxed to the plastic surgery office where they compile those letters with the doctor's pictures and notes from the consultation and send all of that information to the insurance company. Tracy told me that it typically takes 2-3 weeks to hear back so I am anxiously waiting!
