An update

March 2019- a year and 3 months after surgery. The tip of the nose became droopy a few months after surgery, and it’s becoming more and more pronounced. My current ENT explained that Dr. Moscona removed too much tissue, so the top of the nose is not supported enough.

From an aesthetic point of you

It does look good. If you look from the front there is so asymmetry but it doesn’t bother me. My only problem is the breathing issues.

2-3 months after surgery

Here are some pictures taken a while after surgery, sorry for the close up, but this is how a valve collapse looks like, fyi.

Well. Where to begin... Firstly, I guess I knew he's no Dr. G even though he's a rhinoplasty 'rock-star' in Israel. I went for it out of pure convenience. So it's all my fault. His office, his sales representatives, his manners. It was all too obvious that he's there for the check and doesn't give a f*** for the actual health or well-being of his clients. Still, I said to myself-many positive reviews (from a cosmetic point of view). Looking back on the consultation meeting, I can tell that he did not plan on addressing the functional problems I had with my breathing at all (and he probably doesn't have enough medical ENT expertise to do so). He did suggest a turbinate lateralization and said that he will not touch the septum. I agreed, because up until then even though I had some degree of nasal congestion, it was intermittent and I could live with it (now I know the true meaning of a valve-collapse/ air obstruction), and I was planning on addressing the turbinate hypertrophy issue later, with an ENT. Doing so was a huge mistake. Apparently, those functional problems I had, combined with the plastic surgery techniques he used to fix the broken nose, had a very detrimental effect on my breathing. Now I literally can't breathe through my nose at all. On good days -maybe a 5% airflow. The worst 5 months of my life. A huge red flag! He did not do a physical exam on the consultation.Because, if he had, he might have told me that he's not the right person to do the procedure because he doesn't have enough skills to address the functional issues while performing the cosmetic part of the surgery. *Dr. Moscona has a very nice sidekick-doctor/ RN, (I wasn't sure) who accompanies him everywhere, including the surgery, and apparently is there to compensate for his poor bed-side manners. He did most of the talking and for some reason was the one to check me a week after the surgery. Dr. Moscona was probably busy making more money=doing more surgeries at that time. The sidekick didn't do a physical exam too, he just removed the cast and congratulated me on having a "Roni Moscona" nose. **I also had a very nasty site infection following the surgery, for which I received antibiotics and almost got hospitalized, but it was of no interest to neither the plastic surgeon himself, nor to his team. ***Another huge red flag- the sales representative lying to my face, trying to overcharge me. It wasn't very subtle and I think it's something they try with all of their clients. She said that the fee is another thousand for an overnight stay at the hospital. When I decided to leave on the same day, I found out from the hospital administration that there are no additional fees paid to the hospital for an overnight stay as a rule, so that money I paid, went straight to Roni Moscona's pocket. I wouldn't have been aware of that had I stayed the night at the hospital and didn't request a refund. I received the money back eventually, but only after threatening them to take it to the media.
