Bye bye, Tattoo

Oct 10th, 2017 I got my first tattoo. I waited for 3 months to see this artist and feel as though he must have been having an off day. I wanted a tattoo of a tree, not a pipe cleaner. The tattoo was rushed and took less than 25 min from start to end. I immediately hated it and was filled with regret. Several different artists told me they could attempt to do a cover-up, but the idea of more ink in the skin and the possibility of it not really being covered up and horrible made me even sicker.
I told myself I'd keep in for a minimum of one year to see if I changed my mind, and never in that entire year did my mind shift in the slightest. So, here I am starting the removal process.
On Oct 16th, 2018, after considering different options, I had my first consultation and treatment with Invisible Ink in Denver, Colorado. Invisible Ink is the only place in Colorado that had the PicoWay and they offer a guarantee if you pay for the full process up front, which I chose to do.
They estimated 8 treatments for full removal, and any treatments beyond that are free until fully removed. Because of a few discounts, the total cost was right around $1650.
The photos attached are the tattoo right after I got it when it was nice and fresh and the day after the first treatment.
The treatment was not nearly as painful as I had anticipated. The description of rubberbands slapping you over and over again seems to be the most accurate. The whole treatment took less than a minute.
I hope to keep you guys updated and document the full removal here.
Best,
Jared

UPDATED FROM Gant
6 days post
One week after first treatment.
It's now been one week since the first treatment. There was just a tiny bit of blistering that lasted about two days and has now gone away. Not trying to be too excited, but I do notice some slight shading on the root and thinner areas of the tree foliage.

Had my third treatment
Slowly but surely we're seeing a change. From this point on we will space out the treatments 3 months apart to allow as much healthy progress as possible. The side-by-side photo is right before the first treatment and right before the third treatment. So the difference you're seeing there is with only two treatments. The power was turned up a bit on the third treatment, so it was a bit more painful, but not too bad. I'm sure the numbing cream is helping. The next day it showed some redness and a tiny bit of puffiness, but that all went away within 36 hours.

I thought the tattoo was awesome. It’s your body though. Good luck with the removal, it’s going to take a while.

Thanks for sharing! I’m considering the same laser so it’s really nice to see someone’s progress.
Hi Jared! Thank you for letting us in on your journey, love the video and your daughter is super cute! You were smart to give yourself time and not rush into anything. You handled your treatment like a champ, glad it wasn't very painful for you. I'm looking forward to your updates and wish you all the best with your removal.
