WORTH IT
My tattoo is blue black ink, 5 years old and on my neck behind my ear, so very visible. Hoping for the most effective removal also in the shortest time possible, I chose the R20 Method at Disappearing Act in Redding, CA.
I was expecting severe pain during the procedure. My nurse (who happens to also be my gorgeous sister) Wendy Van Kirk, applied a topical numbing agent. When that took effect she then administered a local numbing injection.
We put on some fancy eye wear and I braced myself for horrible pain.
Instead of horrible pain I felt tiny zaps. It felt to me similar to the buzz you get from licking a 9v battery. Slightly less intense.
I receive a total of four treatments today with approximately 20 minute breaks in between (R20).
The least pleasant part of the procedure was the cold air applied to the area during and between treatments. It wasn’t painful at all but an unpleasant cold feeling.
I was bandaged up and sent on my way. For about an hour after the procedure the area felt like it was burned. I’ve had a curling iron slip and burn my neck, it felt like that. It has now been about four hours since the procedure and all I feel is the annoyance of the bandage.
I will update with progress photos as the ink fades and the healing begins.
I am beyond happy with the entire experience. I strongly recommend disappearing act and of this procedure for tattoo removal.
