Journey from an Old Tattoo to Something New

One week post 3rd session

I've been trying hard not to constantly watch my tattoo for possible fading but I do feel as if something is happening. Won't be happy until the black/purple bits are lighter. My session with Laser Eraser was great and it helped when we looked at zoomed pics of my tattoo before these 2 sessions. Can't wait for 6 weeks!

Second Session at Last!

So happy to finally have my second session over with. Andy jumped straight into things and went over the whole tattoo with the lazer for black ink. I totally forgot just how painful this is. Had to grit my teeth around the foot and ankle areas. Got some really good reactions. Next was the red ink lazer which Andy used for the body of the mermaid and the purple ink on the tail. I feel as though there's fading in the lighter areas and I can't wait to see it hopefully change over the oncoming weeks.

Happy to hear your seeing some fading!!
Is he waiting to treat the blue and greens? How much fading are you going for?!
Trying to focus on the darkest colours and all that red first. I'm seeing my tattooist in Feb so will discuss the type of cover I want and how much fading I'll need. I want something wildlife themed so hopefully I won't need tons more removal sessions before the tattoo is faded enough.

Updatw

So a lot has happened since I last updated and my removal journey has taken a bit of a turn.
I was due to have my second laser on the 12th December and had made the almost 2hour journey (if I include picking up my mum so she could mind my baby boy) when I received a call. Mum answered the phone and was told that the technician had called in sick and could they rearrange for me to go another day. At this point I was very emotional about the wasted time and effort as I had to turn around and drive back. So 4 hours gone for nothing. This made me realise that I needed somewhere closer to home. I was initially going to this place as I wanted one of the artists in the attached studio to do my cover. I am going to change to an artist closer who has done some existing work for me.
So, cue more research to find a laser removal clinic in the local area for a decent price and with enough experience to sort my tricky removal. I first went to a technician who offered different laser treatments from a skin clinic. This was a big mistake. While nice enough, the woman clearly didn't have enough experience with big colour work and was very unsure about being able to get results. She also told me her eyes were in a bad way and that she wouldn't treat the whole tattoo in one session. The test patches were also awful, causing terrible bleeding. I wasn't happy at all when I left.
My next step was a clinic called lasereraser. I got a consultation and was blown away by the knowledge of the technician Andy. He explained all the possibilities and set my mind to ease that something could definitely be done. The test patches were great and I can't wait foe the next session. Andy will be using a Lynton laser.
