50lbs in 4 months....meh

WORTH IT$6,900
I don't know, I guess I expected trumpets or fanfare, but there was none. Can I tell the difference? Yes. Is it as dramatic as in my dreams? Not really. Damn I was fat as hell! How come nobody said anything? 50lbs barely made a dent! I need new clothes, but I can still wear some of the old ones! Lord have mercy. I have lost weight and my curves dictate that I am heavy, but I'm no longer *unhealthy fat.
The positive:
Jeans, 12/14 with stretch
St. John Knits Dress 8/10
Rings 6
Shoes 8.5 from 9.5, over knee boots fit.
I have more energy but the balloon makes me feel a little bit of sickly every day. Have dramatically reduced meal sizes and I work on training myself to make better choices every day.
The balloon is helping, but it does not feel *normal* it's a *thing...

Hi! Yes, you eat whatever you choose, just less. 50 lbs in four months? Yes it's worth it, I've learned a lot about myself! You won't die if you eat the suggested portions, cleaning your plate at a restaurant is NOT NORMAL. If you are in Southern California contact your local West Medical, they will give you a referral, my Dr. is in Tarzana. I wish you the best and hope you find inspiration that gets you motivated, after all the balloon is just a tool, you have to do the work.

50 lbs in four months is amazing! Do you feel confident enough to share some before and after photos? You don't need to reveal your identity, and it'd be fantastic to be able to see your transformation.

I was thinking of going with Dr. Hooman Shabatian, but I'm really nervous about it. He bed side manner was not what I expected. Would you suggest him for the Orbera procedure. Or should I shop around? I haven't checked into any other doctors. Also, how was the nutritionist? Did they help you trough the process or were you on your own?

Happy New Year!

After an 8 day Christmas cruise that ended with New Years eve in Las Vegas I can still say with confidence that the baloon works. Cruises are all ABOUT THE FOOD! Did I eat more than I should have? Of course, there were so many amazing options, late nights, cocktails and treats, it was Christmas, but I DID NOT OVEREAT! It was amazing to be able to sample and walk away. Most people gain an average of 6-15lbs on a cruise vacation, I still managed to lose! Today I am at 203 from 238! Rich foods in small portiobs wont hurt you. Now back to shakes and discipline!

Congratulations! Wow you! Thanks so much for sharing! I've just posted my review, I just got back from my balloon insertion and I feel sick but not heaving. I'm so looking forward to seeing the same great results you have. New year, new you!

Congratulations! May be a tough week, just relax and it will subside, you are making an effort to better yourself and are stronger than your nausea. Stay hydrated, you got this!
January 9, 2017
Thanks. I threw up once and napped but mostly alternate between a throb in my belly and feeling hungry(?!?) so I'm not sure what's going on as I fasted for 12 hours before insertion.

Needs time to adjust, a foreign object in your body. If you don't consistently feel full by Friday, call your Dr. so he can add some more saline, you shouldn't be feeling hungry right now.

Spent a miserable night feeling sick so I'd wake up and rush to the toilet because I felt like heaving but I didn't. Just nausea. Hmm yes going to call him because it's a weird feeling of hunger, throb from the ballon and yet nothing stays down.

Rest. It feels awful right now, your body wants it out, it's a foreign object. The dry heaves are your bodies attempt to get it out. Relax, soak your sore muscles in a hot tub if you can, dry heaving and vomiting make you feel sore. If you have a heating pad use it and remember to lay on your left side. Send someone to get 7up Popsicles. It will get better.
January 11, 2017
Thanks for the advice. No food in 2 days as nothing stays down but managed some sleep and the throbbing is faint. I've been using the heating pad too. Will keep you updated!

Good job, every day forward is getting you closer to a better you. Use this discomfort to motivate you, this is what you get when you overeat, dry heaves, nausea, throbbing, feeling constipated and weak. It's training your brain, think about it, no food in two days and look, you're still alive! You are on your way, tough it out.

You look great!!! How are you feeling, have the nausea left? How long will the nassau exist. I am thinking about the sleeve instead of the balloon, but the sleeve is costly. Still saving..

Thank you Ellerbe the, I feel great, except for when I eat/drink too much, then you feel sickly. The nausea goes away after about a week. Not only is this a great tool but it is affordable when compared to the sleeve with the added benefit of no cutting or body modification. May be a good way to gauge how well you can adhere to strict dieting. I wish you well with whichever you choose, the fact that you are willing to do something is already a sign of positive change. I can honestly say I do feel less self conscious and appreciate not worrying about "what's hanging out or spilling over!"

So far you sound good and you look terrific, so hopefully that feeling is temporary and go away soon. I had slight contracting pain for over 9 months after my tummy tuck and then one day it just went away. So we pray yours do the same.

Thanks, I know once you are ready to "pull the trigger" you'll find the best option for you.
January 12, 2017
How much did you pay for the balloon? I'm finding the sleeve to be cheaper.

January 12, 2017
Really? Please leave the link if you can, that info would be helpful to so many, the balloon is under $6,000. Thank you.
January 17, 2017
I know exercise is encouraged, but what about weight training?
User Avatar
January 18, 2017
Yes, weight training helps sculpt your body, do what works for you the balloon will only enhance your weight loss by curbing your appetite.
January 17, 2017
HElko there, first let me say congrats on your success. I'm 45 yrs young and I'm very interested in the Orbera balloon. May I ask where you got it done. I've done some research and I can't find it for 6k. Do you mind sharing? Thanks!
