5 Days of Excruciating Pain and Counting.

So after being told I would need a root canal and crown on one of my front teeth I thought it'd be a great idea to take my dentist's office up on their special deal of $299 for Zoom Whitening. The bleaching was scheduled for 2 days before the root canal. After the whitening, that same day, I had some minor zingers and general tooth achiness. The next day the zingers are gone but the achiness is worse. By the day of my root canal, I've got stabbing pains in the tooth that needs the root canal and solid achiness in the teeth surrounding it. The endodontist shoots me up twice and the tooth won't go numb. She shoots me up a third time and, after 30 minutes the tooth still won't go numb because the nerve is so inflamed from the whitening procedure. The root canal has to be rescheduled. On day 4 I showed up at my dentist's office with tears streaming down my face because my whole chin is ultra sensitive, I've got swollen salivary glands and swelling under my tongue. I waited an hour, crying in pain the whole time, for the dentist to squeeze me in. When she finally sees me, she tells me that most of what I'm feeling is all in my head and prescribed chlorhexedine mouthwash which has the side effect of turning teeth BROWN. Now, it's day 5 post-whitening. I've still got severe pain in my lower teeth and my chin. I'm popping tylenol and advil like candy and I can't see any end to this horrific pain. I don't even care anymore what color my teeth are I just want the pain to stop.

If you're considering zoom whitening and want to know what the pain is like, go into your garage and hit yourself in the teeth with a hammer a few times. It's way cheaper and the pain will probably go away sooner. Zoom whitening should be banned.
