33 yrs young, mother of 3..Tummy tuck, Lipo Flanks, Umbilical hernia and muscle repair

I am 33 years old and the mother of 3 children; 15, 11 and 4. . My 1st born was 9lbs, 12 oz ….and the damage was done. I didn’t gain weight anywhere BUT my abdomen. I would literally be about to tip over..LOL I gained 50 lbs during that pregnancy but once he was out, man oh man, my stomach looked unrecognizable. I thought it resembled chitlins, I didn’t know if I should put cocoa butter on it or hot sauce..LOL I don’t know if it was that pregnancy or the 2 that followed, that I developed diastasis recti , but I guess over the years of not being told that I had it, and years of countless situps, crunches, pilates, weight lifting, etc it got worst to the point I started having back pains and it was hard to really eat without getting these immobilizing cramps in my stomach. I moved to Florida 3 years ago and was told I had abdominal separation and umbilical hernia. After talking it over with my husband and deciding that we were done having kids ; I started obsessively researching about tummy tucks and different plastic surgeons. I had been contemplating it for years but I was FINALLY ready to get ME back. One place (Adora Clinic in Brandon, FL), I sent pictures and they quoted me $5500, but when I got around to calling them to set up a face-to-face, their number wasn't in service and their website was not active. That raised an eyebrow. I came on Realself, I also went on WebMD and other sites when I found Dr Castor. He was the only surgeon I met with one-on-one, but that's all it took.
I had my 1st consultation last year March 2014. My procedure was Wed, March 11th 2015, I had the worst sinus headache. I couldn't wait till those drugs took effect. This was also the 1st day my husband has ever seem my REAL stomach, I’d been holding it in for years or covering it up. He was so shocked.. I wasn't even nervous and I mean I am one of those people that freeze when I walk into the dentist exam room. Maybe because they were playing Bob Marley when I walked into the surgery room, I felt at ease and that I definitely was in the right place..LOL I guess me and general anesthesia don’t mix well, it took them a while to wake me up and the effect didn’t wear off until the next day. I was saying some pretty funny stuff the day of when I got home (I was told by family), I still don’t remember. I had my 1 post op Fri March 13th, everything went fine. By my 2nd post op which was Tues March 17th, I was off of pain meds and my 2 drains were taken out and I was already standing upright. I was soooo nervous about the drains being removed, it was more pain cutting the stitching away (I knew I should’ve shaved..lol) I have a high threshold for pain though, Dr Castor was very patient, waited until I felt comfortable for him to remove them; he told me to take a deep breath and blow out as he was pulling, it was quick and after the 1st one, I was like, “That’s it?”, it burned a little for several seconds but its nothing close to coughing/sneezing/laughing…LOL (I mean SLOL – silently laugh out loud – if you’re in my shoes). I was more swollen my 2nd visit than my 1st, I think because I did have a couple of coughing spells and I almost fell twice, I noticed that my stomach swelled up. Uggghhh sleeping in a recliner for a week is so not cool. One night I had to go to the bathroom and my legs were so stiff from being elevated for so long, it hurt so bad. I also started getting a couple of muscle spasms in my abdomen when I would be asleep, that is such a rude awakening, but I just get on REAL SELF and put in what I’m feeling and there’s always someone else who has experienced the same thing and you get advice from professionals( LOVE IT!). Basically, I was doing too much, as always, trying to push myself and once my body was at rest, it let me have it....SLOL
I’m not even 2 weeks post and I feel good, trying to walk for longer periods of time, I’m sleeping in my bed, either lying flat on my back or on my side but I do feel better when I’m slightly upright with a pillow under my legs. I’m going to try driving this weekend. I can’t wait for all the swelling to go down. I love how it looks already, despite my stretch marks, hopefully I can find some cream that will lighten them up but I’ll take stretch marks over chitlins any day..LOL My next post op visit is April 9th, I’ll be updating. Looking forward to the final results.

4 MONTHS POST OP

Hey everyone...I hope you all have been doing well in your recovery or excited about your upcoming surgery. Well, 4 months in and I still swell up sometimes. I still can't do core focused exercises but I do every else. I am still pleased with my results. My sides are a little raised but I tried the silicone sheets for scar treatment but I had an allergic reaction. My scar wasn't all the way healed, that may have been the reason but I will try it one more time to see if it improves. Meanwhile, I have been using Bio oil, Vitamin E oil and Aloe Vera....I think I walk around naked all the time now...I love my new body. I have so much more confidence now. I still haven't shopped for my 1st time bikini but I will soon enough..I will update again @ 6 months... Take it easy, don't over do it, listen to your body, stay hydrated and eat healthy....HAPPY HEALING EVERYONE and GOD BLESS

Tampa Plastic Surgeon

After reading countless reviews on this site and several others, I decided to put my body and life into Dr Castor’s hands. After meeting with Dr. Castor in person even though he was my 1st and only face to face consult, I was confident he was the doctor for me. He is extremely easy to talk to, very patient and he’ll answer all of your questions, no matter how silly they may seem. He’s soft spoken and it’s comforting; he also has a pleasant sense of humor. My 1st visit he was on his way to his other office but I never felt rushed and I know sometimes I start to ramble but he was patient, he never tried to sell me on more procedures or products, even when I asked about getting rid of cellulite. He didn't say, “Oh yeah, we can do that for you”, he actually gave me great advice and a professional insight to why lipo isn't good for getting rid of cellulite. I would recommend this doctor to any and all of my friends and family. He did a wonderful job and I will be returning to him for a second procedure. Angela and I hope I’m remembering her name right, Stacey are always so pleasant. Dr Castor’s surgical team is great. Actually the whole entire staff deserves kudos. You guys are awesome! I look forward to my first Accent treatment with Terri soon. Thanks Dr. Castor Sincerely, Another satisfied customer/friend!
