50 Yr Old - Implant Removal w/ Breast Lift - Back to Boobie Basics! - Tampa, FL

Hello - I decided back in 2002 to have breast...

Hello - I decided back in 2002 to have breast implants w/a lift due to a new marriage to a much younger man and feeling very insecure about my boobs. You see my husband is a BOOB man! As you can see in my first photos I was what I call "snoopy ears" due to breast feeding. I had one of the best Plastic Surgeons in Pinellas county and he did an amazing job. I had 270 cc Saline over the muscle. No one ever knew I had a boob job! But I NEVER felt comfortable with them!!!
But now after 13 years I decided I wanted them removed - I wanted back to the natural me for health reasons and personal reasons. I love working out and running and they just became a nuisance and very heavy! Even though I had no problems what so ever, I was just now in a space that I felt I do not need these to define me or be a part of me. I was always modest and never showed them off - except in the bedroom for my husband :)
So I contacted my same plastic surgeon and explained my reasons for wanting them out. He was understanding & we scheduled the surgery and he did advise me I should do another lift to get the result I wanted. I originally was a 34 (long)B before and a 34D after - I wanted back to a perky 34B :)
I am 4 days post op in the last picture and they look kinda scary, but I know I will heal and have the result I want. Grateful to be back to the natural me and looking forward to the next journey with my small boobies! In retrospect, I wish I had just had the lift back in 2002 and not the implants. Life Lessons :) Good luck in everyone's journey!

I had much the same experience and had implants for similar reasons. But I never felt comfortable with big boobs and now I look in the mirror and I feel like myself again ! I agree, I should have just had a lift in the first place. Best wishes to you, enjoy your natural body and perky breasts !

Good move. You will look great when healed up. I also live in Tampa but going to see Dr Feng in Cleveland. Scheduled for July 31st. She has done over 8000 Explants. I feel better going to someone with that kind of experience. Again, good luck and happy healing!

Looks fantastic! Thank you so much for posting pictures! How much pain are you in? I am wondering how many days I would need to be out of work. When I got my implants (not saline) 24 years ago, I went from saggy B to enormous DD a doe that I am almost 50, I feel they make me look matronly, old and they are so heavy. I a, sick of them.

Sorry, posted on its own haha. I *am sick of the implants and want them out. Getting them was extremely painful for me with about 2 weeks of lots of pain. I am thinking a lift would be even more painful?

Good grief my iPad just autocorrects to random things. It should say "enormous DD and now"

Thank you - I has been a little bit painful with the lift, but I think it will be worth it as it will give me the result I want - perky! I had more bruising than I thought this time. I was sick of mine too and they felt so heavy and uncomfortable. Looking forward to healing :-) I have been off work for a week. Today is one week from surgery and finally feeling somewhat normal! Good luck on your decision.

3 Weeks Post-Op on Monday! <3 them!

FiftyisFabulous
Monday will be 3 weeks post-op and I wanted to give an update. I was surprised by the amount of bruising I had and even my Dr. said he was too at my post-op visit. He said they will heal and slowly but surely they have - bruising & swelling are down. I am finally feeling like myself and so are my boobs :) I love my small perky breasts and they feeling of not have those large heavy things is very freeing to me! My scars are healing very nicely and I haven't used any cream except some lotion here and there when itchy.

I will say I tried to go back to work my 2nd week and it lasted two days. My boss saw I was still not myself and told me to work from home! I feel I am on the final leg of healing and I am SO looking ready to hit the gym. I know, I know but I miss it :( as you can tell from my "fluffy" love handles LOL
If I have learned anything it is patience is a virtue. All good things come in time :-)
Fifty can be fabulous!!!

You look GREAT !!! I feel the same way, so happy with my small, now perky, breasts '. I still have surgical tape over the nipples and the vertical scar. I think they will take this off on Monday. Like you I'm anxious to get back to working out. At this age it doesn't take long for muscles to turn to mush. I've been going to use the recumbent bike in the gym the last few days and it makes me feels better. Not using a lot of tension but at least I'm getting some sweat going ! The energy levels have been low and I am trying to be patient. A good book helps. Congrats and happy healing !

You look good. A lift really works wonders for some women. After baby issues should really be handled by that alone, instead of implanting those alien invaders. I really like a cream called "Dermal K" for bruising (which can be found online around $20.00). Originally, I bought it for spider veins, but it never did much for that. It does really help speed up bruise healing though. I got a doozy on my inner elbow, IV site. I'm just two days post op, myself - silicone B.I. removal. I haven't unveiled yet, but the whole thing, including the compression wrap feels really great, after 35 years of augmented torture! Removal required some courage, but I think it's the healthiest thing I could have done. Best wishes for your continuing improvements.

Thank you for posting your experience and pictures. I wish i had just gotten a lift without implants back when i got them but I guess my thought process was that if i did that at only 27 years old i would be admitting boob defeat too early in life. Now that I'm almost 40 I'll take the fresh lift, and my own little boobies back. I can't wait!

Beautiful result. Thank you for posting your photos. Hopefully it will provide food for thought for women considering BA after they've had children and breastfed. A lift can definitely give you young looking "BC" breasts with no heavy, toxic bags in your chest. Enjoy them!
