I recently had the Obagi Controlled Chemical Blue Peel done by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon under total sedation. I will never do this again. Its not that it isn't a great resurfacing peel, but this peel is not for those who obsess every blemish in a 10x mirror, pick at everything on their face, find it impossible to stay at home and indoors for ten days and sleep sitting up. For 6 days, it hurt terribly and itched like mad. Even my hair irritated my skin. My eyes were swollen almost shut for 2 days, the swelling lasted for 6. The redness lasts and lasts. My face peeled twice - once to shed the heavy bluish/brown scabby layer that formed and again to shed a very fine layer, under which my skin is awesome. I know as the after effects of the peel progress over the months the result will be incredible, but I wish I opted for a kinder, gentler peel.

UPDATED FROM Tessa Jean
Bad Hyperpigmentation
Tessa JeanDecember 3, 2017
Its now been 6 weeks since my Obagi Controlled Blue Peel and I have heavy hyperpigmentation on my cheeks and jawline - all the places that took the longest to peel. I've had to start using heavy make-up to cover the damage. I went back to the Doc and purchased the Obagi hydroquinone products which are working very quickly, thank goodness. Overall, my skin is very smooth and with make-up on, my skin looks great. I just expected to have flawless skin without make-up - not need more make-up than I used prior to the peel. I have light olive skin, have worn sun screen every day since my teens and do not spend time outside without a visor or hat. I am an old school licensed esthetician.

I’m 70 yrs old. I used the Obagi nu Derma system two years ago and my skin looked great. I’m going back on it shortly. It is well worth the cost. I used the system over three months and had skin shedding a number of times. At times I looked sunburnt but this was all part of the treatment.
The photo of me is taken a couple of months ago. I think my skin isn’t bad for someone my age. I’ve always looked after it since I was a teenager. My preferred beauty products are Obagi. La prairie and Clarins.
La prairie is rather expensive, however, you get what you pay for and it does what it say on the box. I back up with clarins when I’ve run low on
La prairie in between purchases.
