8 days post op

This last week has been rough. Yesterday was a turning point and good day and I finally started to feel it was worth it. My mom stayed with me the first week. I couldn't have done it without all her help. The pain wasn't bad but I did take Percocet and Benedryl every 4-6 hours for the first 4 days then switched to ibuprofen with an occasional Percocet when I had to go back to dr. I wasn't prepared for the soreness and tightness with my stomach. Coughing is still rough and I almost panic when it happens. I have been scared I was going to pull something apart but my PS assured me there were so many stitches inside that I couldn't do damage with normal everyday movements. I still have one drain in but think he will remove it today. The one thing that was the biggest help was the lift recliner chair I rented. It was well worth the money. It is not the most comfortable but I don't know how I would have gotten up and down by myself without it. My bedroom is upstairs so I couldn't tackle the steps for a while. When I did try them I didn't have any issues. I have slept in my bed the last two nights. My back feels so much better.

Before and after pics

1 day post op- 10 lbs gone

Surgery was yesterday. It went great. They started around 7 and ended about 1. I was home by 3:30. Pain was not as bad as I thought it would be but I'm taking Percocet every 4 hours. My arms don't hurt at all - a few little twinges. Stomach is the most painful. Definitely hurts when I move and change positions. I have to go back to PS in a little bit - am not looking forward to getting in and out of car. I can't wait to see the results without bandages. So far everything looks great and I'm very happy. I will post some before and after pics soon. I'm so glad surgery is over and I can start the recovery process!
