Asian Double Eyelid Surgery - Non-incisional Method - Taiwan, TW

The recovery was so quick and after 2 weeks my friends are already saying that my eyes look really natural!

After doing numerous amounts of research and reading reviews of Asian double eyelid surgery from various countries (Thailand, Australia, Taiwan, and Korea), I decided to do my surgery in Taiwan as it was relatively inexpensive and I can speak the language. I also decided to do the surgery in Taiwan because they do a non-incisional method that is a bit different than the traditional version. They call it the "stapling method" where they tie three knots onto each eyelid, therefore minimizing scarring and reduces recovery time significantly. It also makes your eyes look super natural! This method however is only suitable for people with very thin eyelids, so if you have thick eyelids, you have to get partial/full incision.

The clinic I went to in Taipei was called Just Make Plastic Clinic, and according to my Taiwanese friend, it's a really famous plastic surgery clinic. I didn't know that when I chose them, only that I thought the results on the website looked very good and the consultant was very professional. I did my consultation via Line by sending them a photo of my face and asked them if the "stapling method" was suitable. You also have to book your appointment at least a month in advance as they are really popular. You also get to choose your doctor, but if you want the director he has a 10000 TWD surcharge!!!

On the day of the surgery, a consultant first had a chat with me, examining my eyelids and seeing how high I wanted my folds to be. After talking, she then called the doctor over where she explained the procedure to me and examined my eyelids again. The best thing about the doctors here is that they don't pressure you to get any other surgeries, and they really respect what you want to get done.

The actual procedure was probably around 25 minutes, however she spent almost 10 minutes measuring and drawing the lines for where the fold will be which I was so grateful for because they don't rush to get the procedure done and want everything to be perfect. The needle for the local anaesthesia was sooo painful, she did three shots onto each eyelid, one shot was for the inner eyelid which was awful! After 5 minutes the anaesthesia was in full effect and she started the surgery.

I can feel and see almost the entire procedure, so I felt when she inserted the thread into my eyelids (no pain of course) and she would tell me lift my eyelid to see how the fold is looking.

I did have to get botox on my forehead however because the doctor said I lift my eyebrows a lot which is how I open my eyes. This habit isn't good for recovery because I can ruin the shape of the folds causing a triangle fold, so by getting botox it relaxes my forehead, preventing me from lifting my eyebrows!

First day of recovery was probably the worst as my eyelids felt super heavy and I just wanted to close my eyes the whole time. They are so thoughtful and provided me with 3 days of Keflex, antacid, and ibuprofen (all qid). They even separated all the medications into individual pouches!! My eyelids couldn't touch water for 2 days, so I cleaned them with the saline solution they provided. But I must the recovery was extremely fast, but by day 5, my swelling wasn't even that significant anymore. I didn't have to get any stitches removed either. :)

The doctor such an amazing job, and I'm super happy about the results! I would definitely recommend this clinic to everyone!
