Hi everyone.

I am 31 years old, brown skin, from the Philippines. And I would like to share you my story.

Good things started to happen in my life. Work is good, I started to quit smoking (from 10 sticks to 1 stick per day - as of now), and I started going to gym.

As I have been wishing to get inked for a long time, I decided to get a tattoo - a phoenix, as I feel a like I am going to be new person as I started changing my lifestyle.

I have a housemate who is a tattoo artist. He showed me his works. Though they are all small to medium sizes (and the design does not require details), they all look okay to me. So, I gave him the photos of the tattoo that I want and we set a schedule.

It just did not turned out right. It was too huge. The head was right in the middle of my chest. One wing is too short and the other side is abnormally long. It was not finished as I have to work early the next day.

I was fine for the first couple of days. Maybe because of the thought that I finally got inked. After that, I got so depressed. I lost my appetite, I lost weight and felt so weak inside the gym. All the momentum – gone – in a snap. Then I thought about a cover up. I contacted a well-known tattoo artist in our home, she said either she continue the design (which I do not want), or she can do a cover up (takes 3 sessions) – and instead of a phoenix, it needs a darker design so she suggested a crow. I do not want neither but I admire her for giving me options. On one of my photos, it annoys me that the head looks like it was always peeking. And the head looks more like of a rooster instead of a phoenix

Then, I found this site. There is still hope – but it will be a very long journey for me due to the nature of my work.

I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Lawrence Samaco or MedicoGlobal. Her nurse, Ms. Kath, is the one who attended to me. The price is about 293 in USD per treatment for my tattoo as it is huge. They are using Q Switch ND YAG.

Though it hurts somewhere in the shoulder, overall, it does not hurt that much. Maybe because it was, as the clinic advised, on a medium setting and said will increase it on my next visit.

2 weeks after the 1st treatment, I can only see very minimal result. Do you guys think I should continue with ND YAG or should I look of Pico. I found one, she has both Pico (PicoWay) and ND YAG. Also, what is the difference between PicoWay and PicoSure?
