WORTH IT$8,000
I was an athlete many lifetimes ago. I moved out of the small town I was living in and to a bigger city with no family an just my one friend who came with me. After getting a full time job to go with school and my part time job, i gave up things like my beloved roller blading and exercise classes i religiously went to. I started to gain wait. barely noticeably at first but then my clothes stopped fitting. I had gained 50 pounds in5 years! I tried working out and eating differently but it didn't change me enough. After a while, I just stopped. of course throughout the last 5 years, I'd give it a go. Recently, my friend had gastric bypass and was very successful. she lost over 100 pounds and works out hard every day to keep it off. She said "Sometimes, you need a little help to get you motivated."
This procedure was my help! I am still at the beginning of my journey so I am not sure if my plans will turn out or if it was worth the pain and money yet but we will see.
Today, 10/11/14, is the day after my procedure. The night before, I was a bit nervous. I didn't sleep very well. They told me to eat a "good breakfast" and nothing after 8 so I was nervous that I would sleep too long and not get to eat : /
I was up early, ate and was on my way. I like how everyone always asks "Are you nervous?" DUH! You are going to suck my fat out with a hose. Of course I am nervous. Anyways, My nurse was very nice. Whenever you decide to do something like this for the first time, you always read everything you can before you go in so I thought I knew what to expect.
It is different for everyone and very much for me!!! The initial shots that "pinch" didn't hurt when they were injected in my abdomen area but burned like a B**** in the waist, hips and back side. OUCH! Next came the Tumescent fluid. He said it might feel weird but it shouldn't hurt. They said this part will be the most painful/ awkward. It DID hurt. Not so much in the abdomen but it burned on my back, hips and upper abdomen. Next was the actual sucking out the fat. He said this part won't hurt at all but if it did, to let him know. WRONG AGAIN. Most of it didn't hurt, just felt the pressure of the wand jabbing my fat and moving around but there were a lot of places that it burned. Two areas burned so bad that it al,pst made me cry. I have a high pain tolerance so I thought "If only a few people said it hurt, I won't be one of them." HAHA. silly me. The doc put more pain meds there but still hurt quite a bit.
They got out 4050 (whatever the unit measurements they have). 3 large tubs of fat. Gross that it was inside of me.
Once done, I got my compression garment on and my binder. got my goody bag and went on my way. We went to eat, went to a store and I came home, took a pain pill and crashed. Later that night, I took another pain pill and it was still a lot of pain a couple hours after that so I had to add ibuprofen.
I had a lot of leakage the first night. The most was over night in the pelvic area. Today, first day post op, there isn't much at all. The pads look like they absorbed as much as a few drops. no complaints though.
I am still very swollen. My skin is fairly desensitized in places. My arm muscles are compensating for my abs in sitting up or getting out of bed. Crotchless garments are the best invention ever (except feeling wrong to pee with your clothes on.
Due to the swelling, I don't see a lot of difference but I see a little. Cant wait until one week and beyond! I will post pics when I get them uploaded.

2nd day after procedure

Still in some pain but not unbearable. No more draining. Still sore and bruised but I walked for 20 minutes this morning. They say the more you move around, the more circulation you will have and heal better. I hope so!

Yep, that darn swelling does make it hard to see the results we do u of like. It took me six months to see almost final results. I had bought a pair of skinny jeans on the day of my three month check and now I need s belt to hold them up. That is how long my swelling took to completely recede, some days I still have some swelling so patients is the key. Good luck.

Excuse the grammatical errors. My tablet seems to run amuck some times.

Congrats!! You were in good hands, I too had Dr. Potyondy do my procedure. Im now 3 weeks post op. Patience is key, I'm in the wrinkling stage, and am hopeful that it will eventually smooth itself out. Happy healing.

Three weeks after

It has been three weeks now and I feel better. I still have swelling and pain but it is manageable. Massaging the bumps is difficult because it does hurt. Some of the incision scabs have fallen off. I see results and I'm happy so far. The photo today is my before and two weeks after.
