6 weeks PO and Wound Updates
I am 6 weeks PO and all is going as well as it can. I saw my PS last week and he used Silver Nitrate on my B.B. as the skin was trying to close yet the wound wasn’t completely healed. My body broke that scab down and was still draining. The wound on my thigh is pretty much closed. Just one stubborn spot that needs to scab over. My dressings would get stuck to it and pull off whatever was trying to scab. I should have used non adherent dressing but I swore that I would just scab over because HBOT was helping it to heal at lightening speed. My Bad!
I think I’m going to need a revision on my BB... it’s way smaller that what it was intended to look like (you can see the scar tissue grew).

Belly Button Wound Pics
Here are the pics of my BB. The scab fell off on May 8th. I have a series of pictures before Hyperbaric Sessions and after. I have had 2 sessions so far and go for my 3rd session tomorrow (May 21). I will be purchasing some more sessions and will continue post updates on my B.B. and my TT incision above my Right Thigh.
I should mention that I’m a non smoker and everything else healed nicely. I’m not sure what happened to my BB. The first time I saw it was 3 days PO at my first appointment with my PS after surgery. I posted the pic in a previous update (I have the gown on and I’m super bruised) and you can see that it’s nothing but a GIANT scab. So I had no clue as to what was going on underneath.

Wow, you can definitely tell those sessions are helping speed the healing process! That must have been a shock at first to see what was going on under that scab! Thank you for posting, I know it will help many on here that deal with any wound issues. Happy healing to you!!

It was a complete shock to see what was under the scab. I was super bummed too. I sent pics to my PS and he wasn’t worried about it. I even sent in a question to RS (this was prior to getting a response from my PS). I hope this helps other ladies out who have to deal with wound issues. I haven’t seen my PS yet, I go in on the 30th. I will keep posting my progress. Thanks for stopping by!

I would have been frustrated to feel relief getting reassurance from my PS only to find out it actually was something to be concerned about. I’m so curious about why this happens sometimes when all other areas healed so well. But I guess bottom line there is reassurance still that everything will close up in the future (hopefully near future) and you still have a fantastic body shape!

Right?!?! When I posted my question on here, most answers were necrosis! Yikes! But that’s not the case because it was and is healing without me doing any real debridement. I the area clean and place gauze over it. The wound got s all enough to place a bandaid over it but my skin didn’t like that so back to gauze I go. I will post what my PS says about the B.B. Yes! Hallelujah it’s closing and praying it happens soon! I’m over the gauze lol. Thanks for the sweet compliment! I can’t wait to be over swell hell. I think I’m going to try lymphatic drainage massage.

Ive heard great things about lymphatic massage! Swell hell is awful but before you know it, it will be a thing of the past! I should have been better about watching my salt intake right after surgery, I had terrible swelling those first few weeks. I noticed a big change with swelling around 8 weeks. A little swelling will persist though for a few months but it’s not near as bad as what you are experiencing now :)
