I saw Dr. Potyondy to have Gynecomastia surgery. I decided to undergo liposuction to my abs, flanks, and waste. Along with having liposuction to my chest, I had the area under my armpits liposictioned. I am not even a full 48 hours out of surgery but I am already very happy with the results. My "after" pictures are a little rough as I am swollen, bruised, and have some blood from the leakage.
The surgery was a breeze. I had a 645am check in. My surgery started at 730. I was put under general anthestegia. So I walked into the operating room, layed on the table, and The next thing I know am in recovery and the surgery is complete.
Outside of bruising and soreness, the only annoying thing is the draining and leaking! However, two days later and the leakage has stopped. The pain and discomfort was very managable with the pain killers. I woke up this morning and felt like I really don't need any pain meds. The lipo feels like a combination of a bad sunburn mixed with muscle soreness from too many crunches and sit up.
I will post more pics next week. However, notice the contour of my flanks appears much better. Very excited to see the rest of the improvement as the swelling goes down.

9 days and swollen

All seems to be going well. around day 4 I started to swell. By day 7, my return to work, i had a lot of difficulty buttoning my pants. At first I was very discouraged, feeling larger than before my surgery. I did some research on Realself and saw that it is very normal to become very swollen after.

the last couple days the swollen areas, or the areas lipo'd have become very tender, bruised, and I feel like there is hard tissue forming. I think it is normal and have been massaging it, which seems to help break up some of the tighter, hard tissue. i am still happy. however, i have reframed my expectations. The road to recovery, to your final result, is long and slow. I head over and over in the Q&A, PS responding with "Have Patience, it takes time"... However, I truly see that it will take weeks and weeks to heal and see results.

Day 1 post I saw such great results that I got ahead of myself. I will post more pictures in a couple weeks.

thanks

Seroma, drainage, and getting better

I developed two seroma, which is pooling of fluid. The fluid pooled on my flanks, where my love handles used to be. When I pressed on the area it reminded me of a water bed. My doctor drained both today. My right side was completely numb still, so it was a breeze. The left, on the other hand, was not number. When the needle went in it felt like a really bad pinch followed by sharp, burning sensation that felt like it ran down my leg. It was doable, but not pleasant! The dr drained roughly a liter of fluid. From looking it appeared that my left side was severely larger. However, each said produced the same amount of fluid.
Outside the Seroma drama, I feel Like things are progressing well. I posted a pic of my pre, 1 week, and 2 week pics. I am very happy so far. My doctor said that I am probably still 90% swollen and I'll see a lot more over the next couple weeks. That made me feel really excited.
