Oh.. 10:58pm the night before surgery!! Excited mostly, a little nervous.
My 12 1/2 year old was over 11 pound, stretch marks galore and a large / long Caesarean scar to boot! My weight has yo-yoed since having him.
Last year I finally got fit and healthy and realised that no amount of diet and exercise would fix this tummy!
And here we are.. Lying awake in bed counting down the hours!

5 hours post op.. So far so good! Pain is bearable with a little help from my IV pain meds.
Most frustrating part is not being able to move after having ab muscles repaired.!
No complaints so far!

It only gets better as the days go by! My nurses misread my chart and all I got for pain medication was extra strength advil for 8 hours :-)

I'm on Fentanyl, which is great, but it makes you so itchy! Haha!
How far a you into your recovery?

I am almost two weeks in. I got tramadol for pain management which was great. Moving around a lot better but super easy to overdo it! And then I Swell like a Balloon!!

Woohoo I'm off the Fentanyl now and just on oral meds! Sitting up in a chair and feeling nearly human! Haha!
I'm thinking of going back to work after 2 weeks.. What are your thoughts on that?

Hmmmm. ....it would probably depend on your occupation. My job required a lot of lifting, bending, carrying and other such awkward positions. As such I am taking an entire 6 weeks off. If I was sitting a lot (aka desk job) I might go back early but it would depend on how I was feeling....sweeping tends to increase (with me) considerably the more I sit and am on my feet so it might be uncomfortable...at the end of the day I would discuss with my PS and listen to my body....you paid a lot of money for this, make sure you give yourself optimal time to heal :-)

Haha.. Autocorrect! It drives me insane!
Thanks.. I'm a sales rep, so I spend a lot of time driving.. I guess wait and see how I am after 2 weeks! :)
Hope everything continues to go well for you! xo

Today wasn't so bad.. Is there pain? Yes, but it's completely bearable with pain meds.
I'm lucky I have quite a high pain threshold..
So far, the worst has been the itching, just a reaction to either the antibiotics or the opiates.. But we're controlling that with Phenergan.
Made it up to sit in a chair again, a little painful, but definitely worth it!

From my experience I rate him and his work highly.!
Allison =)
Yes, I'm in a health fund. Because the surgery was not considered cosmetic because my ugly tummy was due to pregnancy / c-section, I only had to pay a $500 gap for 4 nights in hospital. Which made the cost of the whole procedure doable for me.
Dr Lam was fantastic.. The whole experience ran quite smoothly. And 3 months on I'm feeling great. Best decision I've made.! :)
Good luck..
