Couldn't be happier!

WORTH IT$15,000
Hi everyone. So I'm about 19 days post opp. My cast came off only a few days ago and I'm feeling great already. I've not felt this confident in my life ever. There's still a lot of swelling but there's already so much improvement!
My social life has improved already lol. I'm so grateful to Dr.Marcells for making this possible.
For anyone considering this procedure, I highly recommend Dr.Marcells.

Can you please tell me how he attended to the broad upper part of your nose, was this via oesteotomies from the uppermost part to mid nose? Also what did he do to improve the look of your pinched tip of your nose. Thanks
Hey can i plz see some before and after pics???
I wouldn't recommend Dr Marcells. I had a reconstructive surgery in 2013 and my experience is negative and since 2013 am struggling to survive. I was left with an ENS (Empty Nose Syndrome) by Dr Marcells. Dr Marcells was informative at my pre-op consultations, but he never mentioned the risk of ENS. I had 4 pre-op consultations paid for but and no once he mentioned to me of this possible risk. I can only say that based on my experience, he is far from being call professional. Please ask Dr Marcells of RISKS!
Same as me, just had him do my revision surgery, was left with nasal passage collapse, and I advised them of this pre-revision surgery, sent in photos after first surgery, it's now worse than ever, is that was ENS is? I'm now out of pocket, and not to mention he charged me for revision surgery which he said he would NOT do over and over again. And I've asked other surgeons, they do not charge revision surgery, worst experience ever, would not recommend him either.
Should of been more clear, he did my first rhinoplasty, and the revision. I've now had two nose jobs done by him.
Have you had a consult with another surgeon? Who would you recommend? Have you go photos? Would be good to see some pictures? Can this improve for you with more surgery?
That's terrible, did you ever recover from this? ENS tends to happen when too much of the turbinates are removed from what I understand.
2007 painful secondary rhino with Marcels. Worse than before. Collapsed, pollybeak, Went back to him and his office was extremely unprofessional although he himself was understanding and kind. He recognised the issue and told me he'd do right by me, He offered to redo. I declined. i think he's a great surgeon but sometimes inconsistent due to insufficient support and at the time, bad backoffice mgmt. This was 10 years ago tho. have things changed?
Have you found another surgeon? Why did your revision Rhinoplasty collapse did he review you and tell you what was going on? Have you go before and after photos?
No. nothing has changed.Still a very effective surgeon but his staff do not reflect this.
Did you get your nose rectified? Were you told why this happened?

It's all done!!!

So I'm on day 3 post opp and I feel much better than I expected. I don't feel any pain and there's minimum bruising. The only discomfort is the blocked nose and having to breath through mouth all the time.

The surgery itself went smoothly I think. The nurse was very nice and caring and Dr.Marcells came in to see me before the surgery and we went through what I was hoping to achieve from the procedure.

I received a call from one of Dr.Marcells staff to check how I was going the day after the procedure.

I can already see the difference in the shape of my nose and so far I'm feeling very positive about the whole experience :)

Some before and after pics would be good, even if you black your eyes out to avoid being identified. Thanks
Great! Enjoy your new nose :)
Thank you!! I am! :D
I am currently considering dr marcells, how have you healed? Are you happy with your decision?

Hi everyone. I have a rhinoplasty surgery booked...

Hi everyone.

I have a rhinoplasty surgery booked in for the 18th of this month with Dr. Marcells. He is known as the master of rhinoplasty but I have yet to find out.

I've wanted this for around 5 years now. The more time went past, the more self conscious I became about my nose. It started to affect me in so many aspects of my life including studies, relationship and social life. Last year, I got to a point where I made up my mind about doing something about it. I left studies and started saving up for it. It's been a slow process but I'm finally there.

I chose Dr.Marcells because he is known for his expertise in primary as well as revision rhinoplasty and that's what I was looking for. Also, the consultation went really well as Dr.Marcells was very informative and easy to talk to. I felt very comfortable with him and this is very important for me.

I had my preop today and that went well too. Dr. Marcells answered all my questions and concerns.

I noticed that there aren't many reviews about Dr.Marcells so I thought some of you might find my story useful in making the big decision about choosing your surgeon.

I'll post regularly during my recovery period to keep you guys up to date. Photos can be sent upon request.

My concerns with my nose are;

> Droopy pinched tip
> Broad upper half
> Hump

I'm very nervous. Not about having a surgery but about the possibility of undesirable outcome or complications.

We'll see. Good luck to me :P

Yes, good luck to you!! Thank you for starting your story on RealSelf. Nervousness is very normal. I was a basket case before mine. Here's a list of pre- and post-op tips for you...being prepared can help take the edge off the nerves. Please keep us updated!

Thank you Angie! I cannot believe it's the day after tomorrow.
Good luck! Is it really $15,000? I'm guessing as he's such a good surgeon?
Hi. Thank you :)

$15000 includes the hospital and anesthetic fees. Dr Marcells fee for my procedure is $11000.
Is that with private health cover?
Nah. I don't have private health cover.
Gee you were quoted a good price. Which hospital is this for?My quote for his fee was $12,000. Add hospital fee $ 5,300 and anaesthetist fee $600.00 per hour.I've had this op previously and to me it was painless, but breathing through the nose makes your mouth dry. A small price to pay seeing as I can only breath through one side of my nose, anyway. It took a year for the swelling to go down completely inside and out.
I'd be interested in seeing a pic of your upper nose before and after. I want my nose narrowed all the way down and front view is hard to mess with on imaging. Please send me a before and after pic via private message.Block out your eyes if you have concerns about being identified. Many thanks
Hi can you please send me some photos I'm looking at having a revision with him in August
Did you have revision with him? If so, are you happy? am considering booking in with him for this. Thanks very much
Hi I have a tentative booking for Surgery with him on the 25th of July, I felt like the intial consult went well but now I'm having second thoughts, could you please send before and afters?? I'd love to see how yours turned out
