I am an early 40's male, and I will start out by saying that I have never had surgery in all of my life, cosmetic or otherwise. This was therefore a major decision for me. Before this, I considered that cosmetic surgery was the domain of women from Mosman.... However, my eye bags were an issue for me, and always have been, and when I received a recommendation to speak with Dr Ho from a trusted friend I thought it was worth at least an exploratory conversation. It still took me a year or so to get round to it though! The outcome is absolutely amazing - comparing photographs of my eyes now versus before is unbelievable, but the telling thing for me is that nobody would know that I've had surgery. Its an odd thing to say, because the surgery is intended to make a clear change, but it was really important for me not to look 'plastic' and clearly having had surgery. In fact, it was this key point that Dr Ho addressed in some detail when we met, and the key reason for me going ahead - he cared deeply that the desired outcome would be achieved in a manner which was entirely natural looking. Right from that first exploratory session, every step of the journey with Dr Ho was superb. I was apprehensive (having never had surgery or a general anaesthetic), but Dr Ho explained everything in detail at every stage, and by the time the day of my operation came around there was no doubt in my mind that the outcome would be great. Likewise, after the operation, Dr Ho explained everything that would happen, how it would feel, the recovery time, why I might see a little bit of 'eye pull down' for a week or two, and when this would go away, etc. All things which would have concerned me had he not taken the time, in advance, to cover every aspect in minute detail. Honestly, immediately after the operation when I saw the bruising, and Dr Ho said that it would be mainly gone within a week, I didn't fully believe him. But gone in a week it was! Being sensitive to the social reaction to me having had cosmetic surgery, I chose to take some time off work and kept myself out of the way for around 2 weeks - After that, unless someone was really aware and up close, it would be difficult for anyone to notice any remaining external marking, albeit the internal stiches were clearly still healing at that time. I would say the full recovery for me was around 6 weeks - Dr Ho was happy to say the healing process was complete after around 3 months, but then he's a perfectionist and can clearly see things that the untrained eye cannot. In summary therefore, I was absolutely delighted with Dr Ho and his team - Exceptional advice, great listening and responding to concerns, perfectionist surgery and a simple spectacular outcome. I just cant believe it took me so long to get it done! Thanks Dr Ho!
