Tanned tatas!

Just a quick photo update of my girls with some fake tan! Haha this is before I washed it off so it looks a bit yuck haha. I had my arms up and standing weird so they look a bit uneven but they're pretty symmetrical. Was a little asymmetric before surgery.

Um what was that cup size again?

So today I went to be fitted for a bra. My surgeon recommends no bra for two weeks post op and then a properly fitted, supportive underwire bra. Only one or two as the size will change over time. So off I went to a local boutique bra store that specialises in augmentation and mastectomy patients. After having a look at me, she went off and grabbed a bra, Freya brand, it fit perfectly. Then she mentioned the size, 8FF!!!! Which is a US 30H!!!!! ARGHHHHHH what on earth! In no way do my boobs look that big. I guess most of the time we buy bras that are ill fitting. The bra I got is a big huge ugly supportive bra that will be great under my work clothes, once I start buying pretty bras, I'm sure I'll fit a smaller size. Plus is still have swelling, so I'm not counting on this bra fitting me forever!

Wahhhhhh!!! Why am I still sore?

So I'm 11 days post op and I'm being a sooky la la. I'm still tender. No pain, just discomfort. My sideboob is the main area that hurts all the time, kind of like enlarged lymph nodes when you get the flu. Then when laying down on my side my sternum, ribs and sideboob are sore. Still have the elephant on my chest when I roll from side to back. When will this go away =( how long until you were completely pain/discomfort/soreness free???

I had my BA with Dr Chan on the 4th March 2016. The whole process from initial phone call to surgery was fantastic. When I first emailed, they were out of office on Christmas/new year break but Dr Chan called me personally to answer all of my questions. My appointment was booked when his staff returned to the office. Kathleen did half of my consult, explaining all the ins and outs and then Dr Chan came through to do my measurements, confirmed the the size I liked was a good fit for my frame and answered and more specific questions I had. I booked my surgery date and that was that! Over the next few days I started freaking out so Kathleen was on and off the phone with me answering my questions and invited me back to double check the size I had chosen. I picked the exact same size the second time around without knowing. Surgery came around very fast I was very nervous but Dr Chan and Kathleen were very supportive. On the day of surgery, I met Dr Chan and the anaesthetist, went over any final questions, confirmed sizing, took before and after shots,l and was drawn up. All the staff in theatre were happy and smiley, there was music playing and a general conversation was going on. As I was being prepped, the conversation kept going and I was included in on the chit chat. My IV was placed and the next thing I knew I was waking in recovery with a nurse holding my hand and patting my leg like a little baby haha. I felt fantastic, no pain whatsoever. I was given something to eat and drink and held in recovery for the minimum time and then I was released. Still feeling pretty good. Staying on top of my meds. I wouldn't say I'm in pain, it's more of an achy pressure like I'm wearing a tight bra and someone's giving me and uncomfortable bear hug. A few sore spots but nothing unbearable. Thanks Dr Chan and team.
