So I had 15 units of botox injected around my eyes...
$150
So I had 15 units of botox injected around my eyes to treat crows feet about 3 months ago. I have always had lots of lines around my eyes when I smile and been blessed with crows feet cause of this. My injector treated all of my lines, including the ones right at the top of my cheek area- 15 units.
I noticed that once the botox took effect,I looked a bit odd with no lines at all around my eyes when laughing, and the bags under my eyes more pronounced. Not a huge deal though.
What I have noticed is a loss in the fullness of my cheeks around the cheek bone area: something I really liked about my face before. I still have full cheeks but I suppose they have dropped and really strangely, I now notice that my face is a little fuller at the bottom. I don't have jowels but it's just a little fuller and less tight than it was before. The other thing I noticed was that my nasiolabial lines have become worse, which I really hate. I went from having basically no line at all one one side, to a having a line and the other side, where there was a line, has just become markedly more pronounced.
I'm starting to see my lines around my eyes return and perhaps a small improvement in my n.l. lines, but it's not the same as before botox. Hopefully it will continue to improve, but I don't know what to expect. I am going to start facial fitness exercises soon in the hope that this restores my face, and also to avoid going down the path of having more fillers.
I just wanted to write this review to let others know of my experience: I really wish that I hadn't had botox at all, bc it def made my face look worse imo. If you are considering botox around your eyes, I would be super careful and make sure your injector stays well away from the lines near your cheeks, given that botox migrates a little and that whole muscle area is, apparently, so important for keeping your cheeks in place. (& I am realising that perhaps my strong muscles in that area are actually what blessed me with good cheeks in the first place!). It's not like Botox has ruined my life or anything and I'm hopeful it'll get better with time, but I have noticed I have lost a little confidence and don't really feel good about my face ever anymore. It's a good reason not to take for granted our physical gifts and focus on what we have, rather the perceived imperfections!
My take home is, be super well researched before you do botox, go to a really great injector & maybe be prepared for how you will cope if it doesn't go to plan.
Good luck :)
