2 Breastfed Babies.... New Tummy and Breasts!!!! Sydney, AU

Extra information

WORTH IT
As per Sheila's request, here are some more details on my experience!
I had the surgery because after breast feeding two babies, I could not handle taking my bra off in front of my husband. I just wanted them filled back up to what they were before. I opted to go slightly bigger ( I was a C cup, now a D) because I believe it suited my frame.

In relation to the abdominoplasty:
I would recommend to be in good physical condition before the surgery. This will help not only with the recovery time, but also you have to realise you won't be able to exercise for at least 6 weeks afterwards. I started trying to do sit ups at about 8 weeks. I still felt some pulling in my stomach, so i used that as a guide to know when to stop.
I was lucky enough to have someone to look after my kids for the following weeks. I think it is really important that recovery is your focus, especially to not antagonise your abdominal scar.
I would say it was about 3 months before I was comfortable doing everything normally. Its been 4 months to date and I still have numbness on my belly, which is normal.
The pros are evident in the mirror everyday. The cons (recovery time, not being able to look after the kids) were outweighed by the results. Id do it again in a heart beat.

I was referred to Dr Phoon by a friend: a resident plastic surgeon, who said he was the best. I was not let down. I felt so comfortable the whole time - considering I had not let anyone see me without a bra on in years! I felt like I was in control the whole way. I quite like how responsive he and his staff were to all me queries via email (I don't live in Sydney, so there was a lot of email communication). I always got a response the same day. I opted to say in the hotel across the road for a few days. His staff helped me over with my bags and got me settled in. His lovely nurse Jenny was on call to me over the weekend, which was a nice surprise! I guess my case was slightly different in the sense that I live out of town, so I had my 1 month follow up with my GP, and sent photos to Dr Phoon for their records. I am still sending photos as they request, but I really have no reason to go back to Sydney as everything went smoothly, and I couldn't be happier. And the best bit of all, the results were exactly as I had hoped! I can't put into words what it was like to go bra shopping once I was allowed to wear underwire again :)
