Age: 37 Procedure: Thermage on the neck and lower...

Age: 37
Procedure: Thermage on the neck and lower face
When: 5 months ago

People always say I look really good for my age with good skin, but I felt like my neck lines were giving away my age. I did a fair bit of research and settled on Thermage. MD Cosmedical Solutions recommended both the lower face and neck for optimal results (my upper face was still young looking).
I found the procedure pretty painful, particularly on the neck, but I feel it was well worth it and I'll definitely get it again. The neck was more painful than the face, probably because the skin is thinner there. It feels like tiny hot pokers stabbing the face, and I felt uncomfortable that night sleeping, but I was surprised to see positive results in the lower face after only 1 week. The neck took 1 month to see results.
I had very minor swelling the next day but it was winter so I wore a scarf in case anyone else noticed. Next time I'll get it done on a Friday when I don't have to go to work the next day.
I've read a number of reviews about Thermage that said it was a waste of money, but I disagree. I was very realistic about my expectations and was happy with the results; there is no miracle treatment out there and some people just expect too much. I also feel that getting it at 37 when I was still somewhat young was well worth it; I'd recommend doing it that way rather than leaving it until later and attempting to fix a noticeably aged face. I think my skin responded well to it.
At 37, most people guessed my age at 31-32, but 2-3 months after the treatment, new people thought I was 30, and I started to notice more men aged mid-20s would flirt with me. So it took around 1.5 years off and just improved my looks enough to get noticed more by men 12 years younger. I take that as a positive indication of the results.
Overall, I feel the pain and money was worth a 1.5 year improvement to my face and in the future I'll save up and get my full face and eyelids done with Thermage at this clinic.
