Five months ago, I underwent a revision...
Five months ago, I underwent a revision rhinoplasty with Dr Warwick Nettle. A great experience with results that have exceeded my expectations.
1988, aged 20, I had rhinoplasty in NZ. With single consultation with the surgeon (picked from a phone book) I had no clue what I was in for. My large, ethic nose was changed to be scooped with a bulbous tip. I underwent a slight revision in 1996 at a Sydney clinic, the surgeon used septal cartilage to try and lessen the 'scooped' appearance with little success. Inexplicably in the last 15 years it collapsed on the left side and became warped, elongated and drooping. The collapse caused breathing issues.
Dr Nettle was honest about the challenges involved in my surgery. He was clear that I required a complicated and lengthy reconstruction followed by a long healing process with perhaps unpredictable results A month prior to surgery, I had a second consultation with Dr Nettle and Elise his (lovely) nurse and they covered everything in detail.
The very complex surgery took five hours and Dr Nettle used cartilage from both my ears. His skills as a surgeon can only be described as exemplary and I can't thank him enough for my new, fully functioning and natural looking nose. Recovery and healing were text book.
Dr Nettle’s practice, Silkwood Medical, is beautiful and the staff (especially his assistant Michelle) are all terrific. Dr Nettle is a genuinely caring, humble and talented surgeon, who, during regular post operation check ups, left me feeling confident that my nose was healing as it should be.
