The only reason I came on here and wrote this review is to warn people who are considering this doctor, DO NOT DO IT! He ruined my nose! My right nostril is way bigger than my left, the tip curves to the right, the bridge is dented on one side and its still too big! I wish I did my research before the surgery. All the reviews about him are horrible! I guess I went with him cause I saw him a lot of tv and in magazines, talking about his work, so I thought he must be good! But nope! Wish I could go back in time and undo it! Do your homework people! I definitely will next time!

Felt like he was rushing me in the consultation and didn't listen properly. Started talking about my skin and how he could fix my acne scars, I was there to talk about my rhinoplasty, not my skin! He showed me computer imaging of how my new nose would look like, but it didn't turn out like that at all! And he was AN HOUR LATE to the surgery!

I'm sorry to hear your bad experience. I have also heard some not so pleasant reviews about Dr Mooney, and have also found his reception staff rather pushy. I emailed regarding a few basic questions and they were ready to take a down payment, which instantly turned me off him. The wait for the surgery can be understandable though, so long as you're not the first surgery in the morning. I had a different surgeon and had to wait two hours between my booked time and when I actually went in, but these things happen if previous surgeries on the day run over time. But one and two extra hours seems forever considering you can't eat or drink from midnight! Do you plan to have revision surgery or just leave it the way it is?
I was the first patient of the day haha, he was late because he had a tv interview on some show. I plan on having revision surgery when I save up the money for it, and after I've done a tonne of research!!
Oh no, that is poor of him! A TV show should not come before his patients. I went with a skilled surgeon who does a lot of revision, when you're ready to start the process of looking for a revision, I can send you some of my before/after shots over email and the surgeons details if you wish. I agree that doing you're research is the utmost important thing! But as Dr Mooney markets himself as one of the top surgeons in sydney, you'd think he'd take more care in his work and take more care of his patients. A shame you've had to experience this :(
Jezz11, I am sorry to read of the outcome of your surgery with Dr Mooney. Did you end up having it revised with another surgeon?
When I lie on my side, the end of my nose visibly drops to the side. It has no integrity following my two surgeries with him.

I am considering having rhinoplasty with Dr Mooney as I had a great consultation with him. Can I ask why you are unhappy with your outcome? Was it not what was agreed upon?
Hi Lisajane.. I too have a permanent dint in the bridge of my nose from Dr Mooney (Feb 2018) and still have breathing problems, is there anything we can do about it?
They only partially disclose operation risks at the time you have to make a decision to proceed with the operation and they ask a $1000 non-refundable deposit. Only later, just before operation they disclose full list of risks and pre-post operative care, when the $1000 deposit in non-refundable. Very unethical and unfair business practice.
The exact same thing happened to me, I had my first surgery in 2010 and the revision in 2011 and sincw then i have had so many breathing problems and my nose looks a million times worse
