Best Thing I Have Ever Done for Myself!! - Sydney, AU

I am a 46 year old mother of 2 grown boys. My weight has fluctuated over the years. For the past 3 years I have been spending 5 days a week at the gym. I managed to lose 8 kilos through hard work. However, I could not shift the weight around my stomach. I originally sought out a plastic surgeon because I was considering lipo to my abdomen.

After consulting with 2 plastic surgeons (both of whom told me i was not a good candidate for lipo due to my age and laxity of my stomach) I decided to have a mommy makeover. I had an abdominoplasty with full muscle repair, breast implant replacement and breast lift, and lipo to my flanks.

I was hesitant at first about the abdominoplasty. It seemed like such a radical operation. I gave it a lot of consideration before going ahead with it. It was also a lot of money to spend. However, after much consideration and a lot of research (much of it on here), i booked in the operation with Dr Alex Phoon of the Park Clinic Sydney.

I sought advice of 2 surgeons but ultimately chose Dr Phoon. After my first appointment with him, I was instantly at ease. Dr Phoon is the most considerate Doctor I have ever seen. He is the utmost professional and I am so pleased that I chose him as my surgeon. He is so caring that before he even asks you why you are there, he wants to know all about yourself - kids, family, work the lot. It is such a pleasure to know that he truly sees you as a person and not just a patient. I had two appointments with him before going ahead with my operation. He took so much time answering all of my questions (some of them were pretty stupid i'm sure lol) that he probably should have charged me more. Not only that he personally answered my emails whilst he was on annual leave.

I was operated on for over six hours and everything went really well. Pain was very manageable due to the pain buster device that Dr Phoon uses. On the first morning after my surgery (a Saturday no less) Dr Phoon was the first person to visit me and he came bearing a beautiful coffee that he picked up at a near by cafe. I could not believe how thoughtful that was.

I was unlucky to develop an infection/seroma to my right breast that leaked fluid from the incision 2 weeks after my operation. Dr Phoon immediately returned my phone call and within a day I was back in hospital having the implant removed and replaced and I was put on antibiotics. Dr Phoon did not charge me a cent for this second operation that occurred due to no fault of his. He was so disappointed and so caring that all of my worries about the infection seemed to go away.

I am 4 months post op now and I have lost a further 16 kilos since the operation. My stomach is so flat that I can't stop looking at it in the mirror. I am back at the gym again and have no pain. This is singularly the absolute BEST thing i have ever done for myself. My self esteem is so much better. I cannot recommend Dr Phoon highly enough and would absolutely see him again for any further operations.
