WORTH IT
It has been just over 2 weeks since surgery. The gas pains have now disappeared and I am finally on pureed food. I was getting quite hungry towards the end of last week on liquids, so happy to be eating again even if it feels like baby food. Also I am no longer hungry at all. Making sure I get protein and vegies into each meal and Greek Yoghurt with fruit for a snack.

The Waratah Private hospital staff were wonderful. Very helpful and reassuring. Surgery went well and post op pain was minimal. I have 4 incision sites with just steri strips no stiches. Now on the liquid diet for 2 weeks. So far I have only had fleeting moments of hunger. My stomach feels tight and bloated and managing on just liquids has been all good so far. I was worried that I’d be starving but not an issue so far. I came home next day, only issue is with bloating mostly at night. I have shoulder pain from the gas and feel like I need to burp but cant. From what I’ve read this is uncomfortable but normal. Taking degas 2x a day. My weight initially went up right after surgery but is going down now. Manged a slow walk today, felt good to move around. Will go back for check up with Dr Tsang on 22/8.

Excited! Hurry up surgery date
Having been planning and preparing as best I can. Have a dietitian appointment 23/7. Secondary goal is to avoid loose skin as much as possible. I have started taken liquid Collagen every day, rubbing Vitamin E cream all over my thighs, tummy, but, hips etc. I made my first batch of Bone Broth over the weekend, heard that was great to for overall gut health and collagen. I haven't booked with a therapist yet, hard to find someone that isn't trying to sell you on their weight loss plan! In the mean time I found a great self help book about breaking Food Addictions that has loads of exercise to work through. Just so keen to get underway!!! New me bring it on.
Wow! Sounds like a great experience! Good to hear the pain has been minimal so far. Looking forward to hearing more as you go through the healing process.
