53, Sagging Jowls, and Bulb Nose - Needed a Total Upgrade. Sydney, AU

I'm 53 years old and had sagging jowls - a family tradition, the hang dog look, thanks Mum. I've always hated it but as I reached my 50's it really really aged me. I've always had a bulb nose, and I've always hated that too so I figured I'd get both fixed at the same time, reasoning that it would only be one theatre cost. I went for a consultation with Dr Daryl Hodgkinson at the Cosmetic and Restorative Surgery Clinic at Double Bay, I'd heard his name around the forums for years and his reviews were very positive. I'm so glad I chose his clinic. I'd made my mind up after the first consultation that I wanted to do this NOW, I wanted to get the ball rolling asap so it could all be done before Christmas, and they facilitated it beautifully. First up they gave me all the relevant reading materials explaining what I'd go through - step by step. I didn't want to go home after the surgery as there is a lot of returning to clinic for check up's so I opted to stay at 2 local Double Bay hotels for the 5 days after surgery. These hotels were on their recommendation list, and they are familiar with having Dr Hodgkinson's patients as guests. That made it so much easier. The first night post op - a nurse stayed with me at the hotel. She was brilliant. She'd had the same procedure (lower face lift) and knew EXACTLY what I was feeling. We had a long talk about her experience and what I should expect, the good the bad and the painful, and how to cope. She explained that there would be numbness, strange electric pains like pin pricks as the nerves reconnect, and that for a while the area in front of my ears would feel like it had a plate under it - all that happened, and as she predicted, all that went away. She was brilliant. I'd asked Dr Hodgkinson to not make me look "too" different, I just wanted a subtle change, and that's exactly what I got. Today I feel great. I have a jaw line!!! which makes me look like I've lost a heap of weight. The surgery was subtle enough for people to notice that I look much better, but they couldn't put their finger on it. I told them about the nose but not the rest. I love it. The whole process with this clinic was professional and streamline. They were very clear about expectations and their follow up care was thorough. The people working there are a delight, most have had procedures done and are happy to talk to you about their experiences. Throughout the whole experience I felt safe, excited and rested. I can highly recommend The Cosmetic and Restorative Surgery Clinic and Dr Hodgkinson.
