I am missing my right Pectoral muscle as a result...

I am missing my right Pectoral muscle as a result of Polands Syndrome, therefor my chest symmetry was of a great difference. I had intended to do Breast Augmentation for years but hadn't yet found a doctor that i was happy with. Dr Jeremy Hunt had won my decision from the moment i met him. He has a professional, yet friendly & relaxed mannerism, as so do his staff. This made me feel completely comfortable. He took his time to explain the different options & went into detail about the different outcomes of each potential decision. He then went on to show me pictures of his current procedures & then examined my chest. There was an option of reducing & lifting the left breast to match the right which would in addition have a little enhancement but this would leave me with more scaring on the left breast & around the nipple. Another option was to take muscle from the back to create a fuller appearance where the Pectoral muscle is absent but this would also create more unnecessary scaring for the desired result. So we decided to go with a simple insertion under the breast & aimed to get as close to an asymmetrical appearance as possible. Originally my breast were of size A on the right & of size C on the left. I instructed Dr Hunt to go as large as possible on the right as the skin can only stretch so far & then just insert enough on the left to enhance it to the same protrusion, width & height. After getting an idea of what direction we were going in, we set a date, had a preoperative appointment, i had read through all the necessary information, the expenses were paid & before i knew it i was in the gown ready for surgery. I had no concerns nor worry the morning of & i honestly feel it was due to the fact that i trusted Dr Hunt as my surgeon.
Post surgery i was given medication & sent home feeling reasonably well. That week consisted of rest & healing. I was given a strap to wear around the higher section of the breast, to ensure they healed in the correct position. 1 week post surgery, i had a postoperative appointment. The dressing was taken off, Dr Hunt examined my breasts & i was then instructed on what to do next. At this point in time my breast were extremely swollen but only minimal pain. I was instructed to be aware that the shape & size would not be in any comparison to the end result. I proceeded with the instructions given of massaging the breast to ensure the implant stays mobile & then onto massaging the scars to create a soft, smooth end result. I saw the transformation before my own eyes. Each day my breast looked more natural, less swelling, less bruising, more symmetrical, less discomfort, so it was all as he had informed me that it would be. I have now since had my appointment 6 weeks post surgery & myself & Dr Hunt are very pleased with the result. The measurements between nipple & the diameters were symmetrical which is fantastic. Now in time with gravity & the skin adjusting, they will look even more symmetrical & natural. I fit into my desired size D bra cup, they also look natural in a swimming costume or clothing, the swelling is basically gone & there is no pain nor discomfort. My next appointment is in 3 months time & Dr Hunt has predicted that the results would be even more impressive!

Congratulations! I'm very happy for you! It sounds like your search over the years for the right doctor  really paid off. How many years had you been thinking about this surgery? Since you had the Polands Syndrome, was this surgery still considered cosmetic or optional? Just wondering if you had to pay for the entire surgery or if any type of insurance helped out? Thank you for sharing your story on RealSelf. We look forward to your update on how the 3 month post op appointment goes!
