Week 2

First week at work was interesting. Mainly just trying to find clothes that cover up my compression garment & the padded corset. Think I got away without too many people wondering what was going on. I managed to use a sit / stand desk for the week, so that made a huge difference. Standing is so much more comfortable, although my feet were sore by the end of the week!!! Sitting just isn't pleasant for extended times. Everything feels like it's kinda in the wrong place. Not painful, just uncomfortable.

Had massages with Fernanda on Tuesday & Thursday, and these took a different turn! Till now we've been focussed on moving the fluid & getting my lymph nodes working to clear it all out. This week she started to tackle to scar tissue that's building up.
Oh. My. God. Sooooo painful!! I've realised I obviously don't have a very high pain threshold ???? and given I had a large area treated I've got a lot of scar tissue. It feels like I have bricks under my skin. So I'm sure the massages are going to help immensely. Just gotta suck it up.

I also had a "lump" form on my lower stomach last weekend. At first Fernanda thought it may have been fluid moving down & settling there. But when it got bigger through the week her & Laura think it's scar tissue build up. So I'm going to get PRP on that area this week to try and speed up the break down of the scar tissue.

I got new compression garments in the smaller size on Thursday. The body suit feels like it may be a bit too tight still. Kinda feels like it's pulling everything down when I'm standing. But feels really good and firm when lying down. So I've been wearing the smaller ones at night, and the bigger ones during the day.

The highlight of my week has been the Epsom salt baths!! Oh they are just divine!!! Definitely help with the swelling & fluid retention.

Lastly, I weighed myself on Sunday. More out of intrigue than anything, and I was down to 97.3kg!!!! (103kg pre op). It's been 3.5 years since I've been under 100kg!!!! So exciting :) and huge motivation to keep eating well & exercising to maintain, or even improve on, this amazing new shape.

All in all a pretty good week. Very little pain, and I've just been taking Panadol if needed. I'm looking forward to getting the ok to get back into some exercise, keen to get moving. But think that may be a few weeks away yet.

Day +8/9, Sat 24th & Sun 25th June

This weekend I experienced some changes in my swelling. On Saturday and Sunday mornings I woke up feeling really swollen. More so than I had been previously, and significantly more so than the night before (I can really notice it based on how tight I can get the fatsuit done up). On Saturday I thought maybe I hadn’t drunk enough water the day before, or eaten something that didn’t agree with me, or done too much self-massage. But then when it happened on Sunday as well I was a bit concerned. I sent Dr Fascetti a quick text to check in, and he rang me back within 5 minutes. It was so good to know that he was available to assist at any time!!! In short the swelling was all good, and I was doing all the right things. Given the large area that I had treated some changes in the swelling is normal, and especially for it to increase first thing, and decrease as they day goes on.

Spent the weekend sorting out clothes for the work week ahead which wasn’t as tough as I had expected. And also managed to fit into a pair of jeans that fit me before the opp, OVER MY FAT SUIT!!!!!!! Cannot believe it!! So basically even with all this swelling and a padded compression garment, I can wear the clothes that I was wearing before. It’s just crazy. I cannot wait to go shopping in a couple of months ?
I’ve also been doing lots of happy dances in front of the mirror. Just can’t get over my new waist. It’s seriously amazing!!!!! I cannot thank Dr Fascetti and Dr Ajaka enough!!!!!

Last thing – the creases in my back feel like they’re actually getting a bit worse, so will check in with Fernanda and maybe get Dr Fascetti’s opinion at my next massage.

I’ll keep taking photos every Sunday and upload on here with a brief update of the week before. Wish me luck for work tomorrow!!!!!!

Day +5-7, Wed 21st – Fri 23rd June

Woke up feeling a million times better on Wednesday. Pain has subsided considerably, bloating decreased after managing to get things moving on Wednesday, and now have reduced my pain meds - taking panadeine forte twice a day. Originally I was supposed to go back to work on Wednesday, but I just didn’t feel up to it. So took 3 extra days off and will head back next week which will be 10 days after the second opp, so I am hoping I’ll be feeling more ready. I’m quite concerned about sitting all day, but I figure if I get up for a walk every hour it hopefully should be ok.

The creases / lines in my back are still there, and Fernanda has advised for me to stop wearing the corset, and stick to the fatsuit. Which means an extra 3 weeks in this thing!!!! So going back to work is going to be a bit tough to find clothes that fit over the fatsuit without looking ridiculous. But I’m sure I’ll manage. Thankfully it’s winter and I can cover up in jackets and looser clothes.

Dr Fascetti was simply amazing!!! Not only an incredibly skilful cosmetic surgeon, but personable, approachable and genuinely lovely to deal with. This extends to the entire team at Cosmos Clinic Double Bay. The entire process has been wonderful, and I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Fascetti or the rest of the team at Cosmos Clinic. Even at 10 days post op I am blown away by the results, I have a gorgeous waist again!!! Can’t wait to see what the final results are like.
