I've always had a quite big forehead, up until university I didn't take much notice of it because... well because I was young and didn't worry about dating and appearance.
Since then I've had new friends ask me if I'm balding and some say " Dam your forehead is massive", and generally people who don't know me estimate me to be older than I am, maybe partly due to my forehead. Eventually it got to me that maybe I do have a big forehead, I had fringe for a while but when wind blew my forehead was like " surprise motherf***er", I got sick of telling people that I'm not balding I just have a large forehead. While googling " big forehead" I became aware of this hairline lowering procedure over a year ago, but I'm really a supporter of cosmetic surgery, and I'm a broke university student so I never really thought about undertaking it until recently.
I've done some research into this procedure, saw some before after, watched some youtube videos, considered my payment options and now am considering this procedure.
I have a consultation booked with Dr J Martinick next week and we will see how it goes, if I go ahead with it I will update this post, I would really appreciate any support!
I currently have 8cm forehead, I feel that my scalp is quite mobile so I should be good for this procedure.
My forehead gets quite wrinkly if I raise my eyebrows, and my eyebrows are somewhat heavy (probably due to the excess forehead skin making my face loose lol)

consultation and surgery

I went to the consultation, hairline lowering procedure is apparently not very common for guys because most guys go through male pattern baldness at some point of their life! Luckily my hair is quite good right now (hopefully it stays that way).
I was told i could get my forehead reducted by about 2cm, so im ok with that, surgery booked for July so ill be starting to massage my scalp, good luck to me.

I was considering doing the strip method about 2 years ago. That’s until I came across qualified hair transplant surgeons who can get you the results you’re looking for. For me it was Dr. Diep. When I told him I was originally going to do hairline lowering, he said “Dude what!?” “You would have looked like Frankenstein with a huge scar on your hairline”. I think you should reconsider getting a FUT hair transplant since you don’t mind the scar. At least it will be on the back of your head where you can hide the scar. After about 4-5 months your hairline will look good and you can use toppings until it grows in more. It’s your choice though man, I was in You’re same position. I felt like I needed my hairline to be lowered instantly and couldn’t deal with it anymore. In the long run I think you will be happier if you did FUT though, it’s your choice. FUE would be even better but it costs more and that’s what I did.

I looked at hair transplant as well but unfortunately its too costly for me right now! I was told I scar well and it shouldnt be very visible once hair grows :(

I understand completely, I was in the same position. I’m sure you’ll get good results either way, good luck and keep us updated.

Hi, first of all good luck with the surgery in July. I'm also a 23yo male with a naturally high hairline and no history of hairloss. I was going to fly to the US for the procedure before becoming aware of Dr Martinick and her impressive credentials.
I was wondering if she mentioned during the consultation if she had experience performing the procedure on male patients. I saw you mention in your post she said the procedure is rarely performed on males. I imagine hairline lowering on males would involve different placement of the hairline for a less feminine rounded shape, and the possibility of the surgery raising the eyebrows on a male patient would have far worse implications. Did she discuss if the surgery raises eyebrows (literally, not figuratively)?

I was actually seen by a different surgeon who does surgeries with Dr Martinick, she says there are some males who do it but not many, however in the slideshow she showed me i didnt see any males (shrug shoulders).
I was told the surgery only removes a piece of forehead so your eyebrows shouldnt have noticeable movement, however I did ask for a slight brow raise and they will do it at no extra cost.

Are you sure you need to get your eyebrows raised? Male highbrows are meant to be low and brooding, compared to high eyebrows for women.

My brows feel heavy, and when I raise my brows a little, my forehead wrinkles up so I feel like I need it, but I will confirm with surgeon again soon, because I wouldnt want to have eyebrows to be raised and slanted, just want my brows to be of a little high placement

Surgery cancelled
Dan420July 23, 2018
About 2 months prior to surgery I ran into some financial problems so I had to cancel the procedure, martinick hair was nice enough to refund my deposit.
I might consider hairline lowering again in the future, however i now have some doubt as I found out one of my uncles is very bald and Im unsure if Ive inherited the unlucky bald gene. If I get the surgery and go bald its going to look very ugly, ill need to observe my family hair history more.
