Since the age of 12, I have always been super self cautious about my nose. I HATED my side view as there was a huge and common middle eastern bump with an extremely droopy, bulbous front tip. I have always desired to go to Dr Shahidi as I have been following his work for years. I finally convinced my parents to allow me to do the procedure, so I booked my first consultation in October.
From first impressions, he is very professional. For some reason I was expecting a super happy and welcoming man, but he was just very professional no other ways to say it. He does not sugar coat and tells you his honest opinion. He informed me that my face is not symmetrical which I had no idea, that one side of my face was higher than the other (eyes, nostrils, lip line etc). He told me that he could not change the fact that one nostril is higher than the other but that did not bother me as I did not notice to begin with. Secondly, he revealed I had more of a narrow side inside my nose which he has to fix as if he does the procedure without fixing it, that will limit my breathing ability. Once again, I had no idea as I have had no trouble breathing through my nose in the past.
He began to construct my nose through his system, but I was unsatisfied with the modified image. I have always imagined a short, small nose but the image to me still looked big. After he explained to me the reasoning behind his thought, I was walked out of his room to the booking staff Amy. She informed me that if I was unsatisfied of the image, I could use his app to construct my own nose and send it through to her for Dr Shahidi to see and determine if it was possible to achieve.
For the past few weeks, I have been sending various images through. Although I am still unaware of how the nose will look, I am so confident with Dr Shahidi's previous work and intelligence I decided to book in just so I am able to secure the date I want. Emails are still being sent to Amy to determine the nose, but I am sure that a decision will be made way before the surgery. Even though I am constantly annoying her with emails daily, she continues to be so nice and patient with me! He definitely has hired the best people in his team.
I will upload photos once the modified image has been agreed upon and more information when I have my second consolation next month for the pre-op & post- op info.
