Fixing What Healthy Eating and Exercise Couldn't - Chicago, IL

After tossing around the idea for a couple years, I decided to finally take the step and fix my tummy. Now no one else noticed my tummy and admittedly standing upright it wasn't that bad but if I bent at my waist there was a small bit of extra skin and that bothered ME. I went for my consult with a wonderful PS and booked my surgery. On surgery day I was well taken care of and my concerns about severe nausea and vomiting were addressed completely so that this didn't occur, which was a first for me to not be violently ill after general anesthesia.

My surgeon took his time and fully addressed my areas of concern from what I see so far. I'm only 6 days post op as I write this but already I feel great and can tell I'm going to look amazing as long as my body heals properly. My incision is low and thin and my new belly button is really cute. I would do the whole thing over if needed and feel that my experience has been great and my results will be awesome!!

Now if only I can get my drains out.....that's been the worst part as they pinch and tug and are uncomfortable but not painful everything has been tolerable so far

I'm 2 weeks post op and couldn't be happier with what I see so far. I don't seem swollen but I'm definitely bloated (thank you monthly hormones) my drains are out and my incision looks ok, better than I expected it to look at this point. I am not bruised at all, I had more bruising from the IV than the surgery lol! So far so good. My energy isn't too bad, a couple times I needed a nap but most days I feel pretty good. I went back to work after 12 days, I was tired of being home.....today was my second day back and I did ok.

I can't believe it's been 4 wks already! I'm feeling like myself again and am cleared for running as of this week. I've done a few Pilates sessions and other than being sore in the abs afterward there was no pain or pulling. I held on with the instructor and didn't need a break which is a good thing considering I've been off for several weeks.

My tummy is still numb and I'm really bloated today but other than that things have healed very well. I have one small area of my scar that is raised up but I'm hoping it will fix itself with time. I am very happy with my decision and would do it again in a heartbeat.

I've made a homemade body butter/ scar cream that I'm hoping will help but if nothing else my skin will be very soft.
