Hi! I'm a 19 year old girl from Sweden and I just...

Hi! I'm a 19 year old girl from Sweden and I just started my Invisalign treatment. I'm on tray nr 2 and I'm already kinda regretting my decision of getting Invisalign.. Maybe more of my decision of going to my regular dentist to get them..

I always wanted to get my teeth fixed and I first found out about Invisalign on Youtube, but the thing was that Invisalign didn't exist in Sweden then. So I didn't want to get regular braces so I didn't do anything about it. Now a couple of years later I found out that my the dentist office I normally go to had gotten Invisalign. I was so exited!! I didn't think to go online and read reviews or anything I just called my dentist and said that I wanted to book an appointment.

Everything seemed fine and I didn't think to ask my dentist if she had done it before and just normal questions like that I just payed and wanted everything to be done as quickly as possible because I was FINALLY getting my teeth fixed! Now looking back at it it all went really fast and I kinda realize know that I didn't know what I was doing!

She didn't inform me about what I had to be done to my teeth or if I had to get any attachments so I had no idea what was going to happen when I was getting my first trays. So the day came and I was so exited to get my first trays, I was in there for about 2 hours because she had to file my teeth and it took AGES before she got it right. Thats when I became scared that she didn't have a clue what she was doing. My gums started to bleed quite a bit and she blamed that on me that I didn't floss and brush my teeth properly. Like sure I could have done it more properly but I was flossing and using mouthwash once a day and since she hadn't mentioned anything about my gums before I just guessed that they were good to go. I was really pissed off that she hadn't mentioned that before so I would know that I had to do it more often before my trays came.

But when I got out of the dentist office my parents took a look at my gums and they saw that I had tiny little cuts around my mouth form the files that she had been using and I guess she slipped with them and thats why I started to bleed. My parents called her and she got really angry and still blamed me but she couldn't explain the cuts I had in my mouth.

Thats when i REALLY knew I had made a mistake going to her! I was so upset but it seems like I can't change to an orthodontist now that I have already started my treatment with her.. I really wish that I would have found this website before I paid and started my treatment at that clinic.. And I really wish that I would have gone to an orthodontist instead.. Also I forgot to mention that she said that my treatment would be for a little bit under 1 year, I remember this because I was so happy that it wouldn't take 1 year I even dubble checked with her. But now that I gotten the list of when I'm changing trays I will have them for well over 1 year.

I'm trying to see the positive and hope and pray that my teeth will be straight after this! Let's start with tray one, my teeth were super sore after all the filing and the cuts she had left in my moth, she had also forgotten to show me how to take the trays in and out so I was struggling! I couldn't call her either because I got them but in on a Friday so they were closed when I realized that she had forgotten to show me.

My parents also confronted her about that and she said that I could have asked but by that time I just wanted to get out of there and she was already running between patients and made it feel like it was my fault that it had taken too long.

Well I just have to say tank god for Youtube!! Otherwise I have no idea how I would have gotten them out! She had also tugged quite a lot in the corners of my mouth so I had a hard time to open my mouth properly because I had cuts in the corners of my mouth that didn't go away for about 1 week. I found this really great ointment that worked wonders!

It did hurt a lot when I was removing my trays the first couple of days but it became easier every day and and the end of tray 1 it didn't hurt at all. I changed to tray nr 2 last Friday and I don't really feel any pain at all, they feel a little bit tighter like tray nr 1 did in the beginning and my teeth are sore again but it doesn't hurt as bad as the first tray! I'm hoping this my teeth will turn out the way the clincheck promised and that my next dentist appointment will go better then my last one!

I'm sorry if there is any misspellings in my text, again I'm from Sweden so english isn't my first language! I'm writhing here because I really find this website helpful and I hope that maybe some one else will learn from my mistakes!

Tray Nr 3 + Photos

Hello, I'm changing to tray nr 3 today! I'm super exited! I haven't really felt any pain with tray nr 2, they were a little tight when I first put them in and they didn't fit properly over 1 tooth but just 5 minutes with the chewie and it was fine.

I called my dentist because I had a feeling that my trays didn't fit properly because they didn't go all the way down to my gums. Tray nr 1 didn't go all the way down either, and I had read online and on this website that they were supposed to go all the way down to the gums. But my dentist said that they weren't supposed to go all the way down. So I'm super confused but I guess I just have to listen to my dentist.. Hopefully everything goes as planned but I guess I have to wait and find out in 2 weeks!

I totally forgot to tell you guys why getting my teeth straightened, I have an overbite and crowding in my lower jaw. So thats why I'm getting my teeth fixed :)
