Horrible Painful Burns - Sunset Beach, CA
UPDATED FROM Sedwards
Update :(
I no longer have open wounds, however I have ugly scars on both sides of my face as well as red blotches. The texture of my skin has changed. My skin feels like leather. The elasticity is no longer there. I look as though my face is 10 years older. This was such a horrible experience. I pray that nobody else goes here or would ever have to suffer through this.

Wow. What can be done to the people that preformed that treatment on you??
It has been a long two and half years. We just finally settled in mediation a couple weeks ago.
Thank you for sharing your experience

I had Ipl and I was burned so badly. I was in a lot of pain during the procedure and had told the technician multiple times during the procedure that it was painful and burning. Immediately after finishing it became clear that I was burned. multiple people came in and tried to assure me that I was fine and I had the perfect skin and not to worry I would be perfect in a week. The next morning I had huge blisters on my face and open weeping burns. I immediately went back and they still tried to tell me I would be fine in a week. Well, it has been over 2 months and my blisters and burns are still not healed. I am very sad that this has happened and the spa I choose was negligent and clearly had the IPL way to high . My face is permanently damaged.

I am so sorry you have had to go through all of this agony. It sounds like you were not given any explanation at all as to what happened?
I was given a lot of run around and they hoped to sweep me under the rug
Thank you for being so brave to share your experience. I'm so sorry this happened to you. It is really scary to have any procedure done. I hope you recover soon and find some good treatment ideas on the forum. Please keep checking in here and know that people really care.
thank you for your kind words. My face is not any better and I have a lot of sadness over it
I am sorry to hear you have had a bad experience too. I hope you are getting better. It is so heart breaking when you trust someone to make you look better and you end up looking worse than you could ever imagine
I hate that this happened to you. I'm here to support you if you need it. There is a topical called Biafine which is used for burn victims. Please ask your doctor for a prescription. Let me know how you're doing.
I am wondering if this would be still effective after 3 years?
Probably not. I used a topical called Psoria-Gold 2 years out which helped reduce the chronic inflammation in my face.
@kikilisa ...do you think the psoria gold with help with the inflammation that comes and goes from my laser burns. ? It's like I have roseaca and it can get really swollen. I have to use cold water to wash my face and most face washes burn now so I'm using purpose and a mild face cream. Really curious about that stuff?
Turmeric (yes the spice) and zinc are wonderful for inflamation and rosacia. Taken internally or applied in a yoghurt mask. I try to maintain an all natural nontoxic skin regimen since ive had my own bad experiences. Cheaper, safer, easier!
thank you, My doctor has me using a barrier cream prescription. i am also using a prescription sunblock to prevent anymore burn damage
