What I paid

Three weeks post surgery, all of the terrible bruises are gone ! There is still some swelling, and if I fail to follow my surgeons instructions to use a Neti pot four or five times a day, it gets Worse.

Here's a break-down of what I paid:
(Please note, your costs will vary!! Everyone's insurance is different and every doctor has different charges, on a per-case basis.)
Facility fee: $200
Surgery/anesthesia for deviated septum surgery: $4,000 paid BY INSURANCE (after my 10% co-insurance payment of $400)
Plastic surgery component: $2,000

Since the primary operation was for my deviated Septum, the majority of fees were covered by my insurance. Paying an additional $2,000 out of pocket for slight plastic surgery was a minimal expense for the great results achieved.

Makeup tutorial and progress

I cannot believe how quickly and significantly my face/nose has healed ! I really love the results: very natural, and straight. I didn't want to look "worked on" (no offense to those who do!), but rather wanted my nose restored to the shape it had prior to being injured. AND I can breathe. :) Thank you, Dr.Paraiso!

Since many have asked about how I covered the bruises with makeup:
1) I applied heavy vitamin e serum (Trader Joes) and vitamin e moisturizer (the body shop) to give my skin a smooth surface.
2) to the center/ red parts of the bruise, I applied Physicians formula Conceal rx in soft green. This is like grease paint and has to be blended well
3) Next, I used Bobbi Brown corrector. It is a heavy duty under eye cover up. I patted it onto the under eye area.
4) Next, and most importantly, I smeared myself with Cover FX cream concealer.
5) finally, I used a beauty blender sponge to apply Tarte maracuja creaseless concealer. Mind you, this was all done BEFORE applying my regular makeup!

I only did the above when I had to go to meetings with clients. It's an exessecive amount of products, and is probably not necessary for most people. I found it best to let the skin "breathe", and repair itself without barrier.
