I'm getting smart lipo triplex done this Friday!...

I'm getting smart lipo triplex done this Friday! My first pregnancy I gained a ton of weight. After all of it was gone, I still haven't been able to get rid of my love handles and lower abdominal fat. Also, my stomach is dimply and has some extra skin but nothing major. The texture of my skin on my abdomin has always looked like cellulite since giving birth. I went in and had a consultation keeping my fingers crossed that I wouldn't have to get a tummy tuck because I'm afraid to be out to sleep and a big baby when it comes to pain. The doctor told me I'm a great candidate for smart lipo triplex amd that the laser will tighten my skin and even out the texture! $3,000 is definitely worth results that will last a lifetime. Once the fat cells are destroyed and sucked out, if you gain weight it will NOT go back to the treated areas! The doctor wrote me a perscription for 10 Valium and 20 Norco. He instructed me to take one Valium and 2 Norco an hour and a half before the procedure. It's Wednesday and I only have 2 days left. I'm anxious, nervous, and excited at the same time. After weighing 135 and going up to 235 then back down again, it's very understandable to my friends and family that I want to look as good as i feel. In the last 2 weeks, I've been hitting the gym hard and have lost a few more pounds so I'm down to 128. I asked my doctor's PA if I kept working out and lowering my bmi, if it would affect the procedure in case the doctor couldn't see the fat that I normally have without working out. She explained to me that we are all born with the same amount of fat cells and that they enlarge when we gain weight and they deflate when we lose weight. So it's not about the volume of fat that is removed, but the removal of fat cells completely. Over weight people don't have more fat cells. Their cells are just bigger. Once she explained this to me, I felt great. I'm going to go to the gym again today as well as tomorrow. I figure I might as well feel the burn since I won't be able to be as active after Friday. I believe I will take better care of my health and diet in the future since I will have a new body. I will keep everyone updated as I go along. Thanks for reading!

I was scared at first. I've never had any type of medical procedure done or a surgery so I expected the worst. It's not bad AT ALL. The first numbing shots he did for the canula puncture sites didn't hurt at all. Getting blood drawn is more uncomfortable. Then, once it's numb (which only takes literally one second), he goes in with the tumescent fluid. All you feel is a little pinch here and there. The fluid doesn't burn. I had my abdomen and flanks numbed and it only takes about a minute. After everything is numbed up, he goes in with the laser. You can't feel it at all. I was so anxious and nervous for nothing. I was able to take pictures during the procedure. That's how comfortable I was with it. When it was all done, I stood up with no problems. It took about 2 hours total for me. I went in for only smartlipo, but my doctor treated me with the cellulaze laser as well. I had cellulite on my stomach and always hated the wrinkly, uneven appearance. No amount of excercise would've gotten rid of that. He didn't charge me extra, which is great. Recovering at home is easy. As long as you take pain meds as perscribed, you aren't in any real pain. If you aren't happy with your body, this procedure is soooooo worth it! Giving birth hurts a million times worse. Getting an epideral, wisdom teeth, pulled muscle, etc are ALL more painful than this. I say if you've been thinking about doing it, GO FOR IT! You won't regret it one bit :)

1. I think your tummy looks flatter after but I think more than just 250 cc's - seems like a small amount but there are two kinds of fat - the stuff outside the muscle and under the skin, and then the kind internally around your organs under the muscle.
2. We are not all born with the same amount of fat - your early years until age 12 define the number of fat cells. That is why it is so important to make sure kids have a healthy diet. Often when adults gain weight who have been previously thin, it is more symmetrical because there are fewer fat cells that have been established in childhood. Once you hit adolescence your body doesn't add fat cells - the size of those fat cells grow.
3. Think about it this way! You'll never have those 250 ccs of fat ever again so you are doing great and you look amazing!!

Smartlipo Triplex tomorrow and so nervous

One day before my procedure and ugggh! I'm so nervous! Now I see why the doctor prescribed valium. I was up until 2am looking at before and after pics of women that have had the procedure done and researching the procedure itself. There are alot of reviews on here with women saying they had horrible experiences and didn't get the results they expected. So what I read from doctor's responses here, was that alot of times people weren't plastic surgeons and just purchased the equipment and wanted to earn the money back from their investment so EVERY ONE is a candidate to them! I was able to get comfort out of my doctor's reviews. I guess when people have botched plastic surgeries that need to be corrected, the hospital here refers patients to him! Also, if within 6 months I need a revision, I will not pay for the surgeon's fees. Just room and equipment which is $500. This reassures me that he wants to get it right the FIRST time. Revisions cost a business money, especially if the patient doesn't have to pay for the doctor's time. What I'm afraid of the most isn't bad reviews from other patients. Now it's the numbing process of the tumescent fluid! I hope it only stings for a second. I'm doing updates from my phone and haven't figured out how to upload pics yet, but as soon as I do, I'll make sure to post before and after pics. Because let me tell you, all the pics I've looked at, there was only one whose stomach looked exactly like mine and I had to REALLY dig to find even that one! I'm not self conscious about my weight at all. Honestly the only reason I've been looking at scales lately is to hope I gain weight from my muscles growing due to weight training. I believe my expectations at this point are reasonable. Im not looking to lose weight, but to lose inches around my flanks and abdomen. One more day until my new body!

Thanks for that reassurance! I've seen mostly positive, inspirational reviews...but the bad ones always stick out lol! I'm taking another valium tonight to help me sleep. :)

Me too! I'm already at home and I just feel a dull ache in my flanks but that's about it. Made a mistake by trying to change thr badges and removing my garment while standing up. Amost passed out! Hope you recover soon!

I'm still numb from the tumescent. When that wears off, I'll feel your pain! Looking forward to see your results!

I freaked myself out the days before...and it was really for nothing. Time goes by fast and there was minimal pain. Not sure if you have tattoos, but getting a tattoo is 20x worse.

Yea I have one tatoo. Such a small one too and it hurt like hell! Thanks for the reassurance!

You were right! Tattoos hurt way more. Getting wisdom teeth pulled hurts way more, spraining an ankle hurts way more lol! And as far as after, pain meds really help take the edge off! I would definitely do it over again or get more work done by my doctor :)

Within the last few weeks, I've been taking moringa and eating whatever I want and STILL losing weight! If I would've had a consultation months ago, the procedure would probably cost more due to more fat.
