So far
So far recieved twice follow up visits and tomorrow will be the third one.I am already a normal person except for the two draineges aside. Dr H is open minded and easy to understand the problems that I raised. And I am pleased that this time the TT scar has been lowered a lot to achieve a more aesthetic goal. But one thing I regretted,is that I should have insisted on putting the mesh also under the triangle area right below the rib(Though Dr H said several times pre surgery that in this case that I may feel difficult to breathe). Now I feel very tight on my middle to lower abdomen very supported, but still some empty feeling on my upper abdomen.DrH said yesterday if I wanted to have mesh put there I should wait for another six months......GOD.....We will discuss this issue tomorrow...So far, both apprearance and function of the entire abdomen has improved a lot, though not perfect, hope my upper abdomen issue will be solved at last in the near future.
Still nervous so I decide...
Still nervous about the adherence of the two layers of the upper abdomen, because they were totally seperate in the past four years.Though Dr H told me to wear compressing garment no earlier than the drainages being taken out,I still began to do so yesterday.A surgical belt with several thick socks squeezing along the long narrow area of the upper abdomen and the triangle area right below the sternum, feeling good, and will pay attention to the skin all the time to prevent skin necrosis. The first a couple of weeks is the very critical time for the soft tissues to heal and reposition, one should never underestimate its importance.Decide to do so 24/7 for 3 months.
Today Dr H came to my room for a follow up visit.
Everything went very well.Dr H was glad that I did so well. And He was so reassuring that he explained again and again with patience that he did a lot of permenant sutures between the skin layer and the muscles and they would adhere together, which has been my most concerning point. My waistline is so obvious now though no lipo was done but strong plications made it.Begin to try very best to eat more for better healing.Hope the drainages will be removed about one week from now.
