One Month Post
Hi All! Here are one month post pics! I'm sorry the quality of the photos are poor but I took these today on my way home from work. I work in the medical field and usually have my hair pulled back with very minimal makeup. Not super flattering but at least you can see my lip improvement! I originally measured 20mm from columella to top of lip. Now I'm at 15 mm. I see improvement but am thinking of a second procedure in the coming months. I looove Corrine's 2nd lift results! What do you experts think out there? I do value your opinions.

I would be worried that a 2nd surgery could make your scar, if you have one, more apparent. But, I am probably greater than 20 mm, and mine does not bother me at all. I think you look fine. You could always use a lip liner on the outside top edge of your upper lip to give the illusion of less space up there. Good luck with your decision!

I had two lip lifts with no worsening of the scar. I think you should wait a year and then decide. If you go for a second lip lift, make sure the sides are lifted as well so you don't get that hiked up look.

Thank you. I will wait 6 months at least before considering a 2nd lift. Like you said I probably need to play with lipstick and liner a bit. That may just do the trick! I have always worn minimal makeup unless I am going out on the town. I may just have to change that :)

Try a lip liner close to the natural color of your lips, a nude, and see if that makes a difference.

So are you leased with the outcome? Do you have tooth showing? No smile pictures posted! Looks good! I am interested in getting it done, mine measure 2.5 cm!

I am pleased. Tooth show is not a huge deal for me. I might just keep what I have but wouldn't mind a few mm's more. I'll have to decide if its worth the trouble. But yes overall I am very happy!

Why with this doctor is there always a second surgery?

Dr. H is conservative with lip lifts. If someone wants a subtle difference one surgery is probably enough. If one wants a dramatic change a second surgery is probably required. I knew this going in and am very happy with his style. I also think a second lip lift is common regardless of which doctor is chosen. Thanks for your question. Hope this helps!

Believe me it is much better to go with a conservative doctor like this one. The last thing you want is to have too much skin removed. You can always take more second time around, but you can never put back. Plus, if too much is removed you may not be able to close your lips. Terrible trade off. I know a woman who had the muscle hemming lip lift technique and her upper lip was really hiked up. It never dropped. She's had skin grafts to try to lower her lip to bring it down to a more natural position. As you can imagine the skin used for a skin graft does not match your upper lip skin. I really respect Dr Horndeski for his ethics. Plus he does meticulous work.

3 Week Update- No makeup !
Finally getting an update! I get sooo busy with my job everything else ends up falling by the wayside. Attached are pictures before makeup. I must say it is so hard to look at my face so closely. I see so many imperfections :(. Anyway I wanted to show how my incision is healing and the difference in my before and after. Like most of us I might want more taken off but I haven't decided. I might just need a touch of filler in my lips to get the best look. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I've been considering this surgery and your result is a pro in my estimation. I've had fillers and they look great however not permanent. I would be elated if I had your lips!

Looks great. It doesn't look like there's any nose distortion. What kind of comments did co-workers or relatives make? I hope you will post a full face before and after.

Yay! You're back! You're healing sooooo good. Looks perfect! They look beautiful now, I too am considering having a little more taken off. My left stitches are still red and bumpy. I'm so happy to read your update, I don't see any imperfections!

What is the distance of your upper lip (philtrum) now? It does look shorter than before, when you were 20mm. You said he took off 6mm, correct? I notice that your nostrils are not curling in like before and your upper lip area may still be a tiny bit swollen. Is that correct? If it is still swollen, will that get your nostrils back to the way they were before the surgery?
I am scheduled to have a lip left next Tuesday. The doctor I am seeing (Baker) does not believe in cutting up the side of the nostrils as other doctors do. He said the scars there can be quite visible. Your scars seem to be healing nicely. Will you be doing any kind of laser treatment on them?
